7 Results of the Early Church’s Steadfast Devotion
We have considered the early church’s steadfast continuance in doctrine, fellowship, breaking bread, and prayers. Now, we see the 7 results or effects of the original church’s steadfast commitment to those activities. If we do not see these effects in our churches today, we must honestly evaluate how we are engaging in the 4 core activities of the early church.
Saved By Keeping in Memory
We can be saved by keeping in memory the word of God. This salvation by the scriptures is not to gain eternal life but to deliver the child of God’s heart from the perils of this world. We need to learn and memorize God’s word to protect our mind from the dangers of sin.

Who Am I? & Here Am I
In this message, we examine the two phrases, “Who am I?’ and “Here am I!” Using Moses as a starting point and other examples in scripture, we see that we must have a sense of our own unworthiness and God’s complete worthiness in order to be fit for service in His Kingdom.

4 Activities of the Original Church – Prayers
As we examine the early church in the Acts of the Apostles, we find the church was committed to praying without ceasing, both privately and publicly. They met together to pray during great times of need, but they also prayed together on a daily basis. We also consider examples of prayer meetings and great answers to those prayers during the history of the Primitive Baptist Church. We need to follow the pattern of the Original church and pray fervently and without ceasing.
All Thine Heart
God will not settle for “half-hearted” devotion to him. We are called to serve the Lord with “all thine heart”. We are to love God with all our heart. We are to believe in the Lord with all our heart. We are to trust in the Lord with all our heart. We are to repent and turn to the Lord with all our heart. We are also to praise God with all our heart as well!
4 Activities of the Original Church – Breaking of Bread
We consider the 3rd of the 4 core activities of the original church, the breaking of bread. The natural expression of fellowship in the church is by sharing a meal together, breaking bread one with another. As the body of Christ, we need to eat meals together and fellowship together because by doing so, we eat and fellowship with Jesus Christ.
