Podcast Episode: A Physical Therapists Role In Mental Health

Podcast Episode: A Physical Therapists Role In Mental Health

We are joined by Chris Gering. A graduate of Northern Arizona University, garnering a Doctorate in Physical Therapy was the logical career path for me following an injury-ridden collegiate baseball career.

Aspirations of becoming a graphic designer, commercial pilot, and civil engineer were eventually overshadowed by his fascination with movement dysfunction, injury, and their relationship with physical and emotional well-being. He have been fortunate to apply this passion and knowledge as both a staff physical therapist, clinical director, and now private practice owner.

Compassion, inclusivity, empathy, kindness, connection, and trust are at the forefront of my practice. From sports injuries to post-operative conditions, He is committed to providing an extremely personalized, patient-centered, and evidence-based experience to injury and pain recovery.

Podcast Episode: The Culture of Social Comparison

Podcast Episode: The Culture of Social Comparison

Elliot graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno with a BA in Political Science and International Affairs and an MPA with an emphasis on Public Policy. He earned a second masters degree in Strategic Communication from the University of Iowa. Currently, he is working towards his Juris Doctor at Syracuse University.

Elliot formerly worked as the Deputy Political Director for the Heller for Senate campaign overseeing all of Northern Nevada.

Humans have the unique ability to coordinate behavior, economic exchange, political action, and social relationships across immense distances and times. To keep this level of coordination running smoothly, we often look to others as comparison standards for how to behave, think, and feel.

In todays episode, Jake and Elliot dive deep on the topic of comparisons, especially during this COVID pandemic. They discuss how to be aware of the language we use and the comparisons we create in our daily lives and in society.

    Hope you Enjoy!

Emotions are temporary

I Learned so much from listening to Jake about Izzard’s View on emotions. It’s ok to feel, but it only lasts less than 10 seconds. Then your thoughts, which you control, takes over. My life and family are better from listening to this and I recommend this podcast to EVERYONE!
