Why do people keep resisting new things? That’s the question Pessimists Archive tries to answer. In each episode, we travel back in time to the moment that a new technology or innovation was introduced—something that today we think of as totally commonplace!—and we explore why everyone was freaking out about it. Our hope is this: By seeing how repetitive and often silly yesterday's fears were, we can begin to defang today’s fears as well.

SO Good!

This podcast is GREAT! The careful research means there are a limited number of episodes available, so you have to be careful. You will get addicted, and there is more demand than supply at the moment!

It’s both a telescope & a mirror

I’ve been enjoying this podcast: it takes an engaging look at recent history, and in the process holds a mirror up to ourselves today, showing how people and societies resist, question, and assimilate innovation (and change in general).

A favorite of mine

Easily one of my favorite history podcasts. It’s fast paced, interesting and informing.
