    A little while back I had a run in with personal issues. At the time I thought I could juggle both the podcast and what I had going on in my personal life. I was wrong and Slimming Down Dad was placed on the back burner while I handled more pressing business.

    Now that it looks as if the rough patch is behind me, I think it is about time I get back into the regular production of my Podcast that revolves around my Weight Loss Journey. Episode 14 is a catch-up episode, of sorts, as I go over my October Project and what I have in mind for November.

    I’m also tremendously excited about the Slimming Down Dad Weekly Challenges and would love for you to participate. This first weeks calls for 500 Squats. C’mon, you’ve got this!

    Yesterday I hopped in my car, immediately after a grueling gym session, and began my usual scramble to get things done. I raced home, grabbed a really quick bite to eat, hopped in the shower, whipped up a protein shake for the road, and headed back to the car.

    While driving over to my daughter’s soccer practice I thought it would be a good idea to fire up the recorder and put together another episode of the Slimming Down Dad Short.

I’d like to apologize for that and assure you that it isn’t an issue of losing interest. I have a daughter that just started school and is playing soccer for the first time. Who knew that a soccer league for 5 year olds would have their parents so busy?

    Slimming Down Dad Short: Updates and Stuff

    This week on the Slimming Down Dad Short I decided to do something a little different. I’m always trying to come up with ways to reward those signed up for the Slimming Down Dad Newsletter. Initially it was an early release of the Slimming Down Dad Short but this week I pulled out my handy-dandy video camera and recorded a video of the episode. I hope it serves as an inspiration to sign up (you’ll get to see what my wife affectionately described as my ‘Skeletor Face’) as well serves as a thank you to those that have signed up already.

    The content of the episode this week was just a quick update on the release schedule for the podcast. I’m finding that it is extremely difficult to continue releasing on Friday mornings with everything we have going on as a family (I had no idea my daughter playing sports would make me so busy…).

    Going forward I’m going to release the full podcast on either Saturday or Sunday morning (I’m still undecided – I may even do Midnight on Sunday). The Slimming Down Dad Short will be moving to a ‘whenever I can fit it in’ schedule and may become unpredictable. My apologies to anyone that prefers the supplemental episodes over the full episodes.

    To wrap up the episode I talked briefly about an outing I had with the fine folks from CustomFit Training.

    This week on the Slimming Down Dad Podcast I had a last minute change of plans. The interview that I hoped to conduct had to be pushed and I decided to replace it with a barrage of topics ranging from Personal Training to Fitness Classes for my Wife to Dealing with Injury.

    I got pretty gabby and the eipside wound up running longer than usual, coming in at about 50 minutes. It is a long one but it was fun to record.

    I had a interesting moment in the gym today. I'm usually in the rack and not paying attention to myself in the mirror. Today I mixed it up and did a chest and arm workout. While doing curls, watching myself in the mirror, I noticed my arms for the first time in quite a while.
