The Jewish Story Interlude: Tisha B’Av 5780 and the Disengagement

The Jewish Story Interlude: Tisha B’Av 5780 and the Disengagement

Israel's disengagement from the Gaza Strip was fifteen years ago, but to me it feels like yesterday. In this interlude, author Daniella Levy joins me to discuss the fiction work which she wrote to engage this complex event. Along the way we speak about Tisha B'Av, what it means to be an immigrant and how one can tell a true story from multiple perspectives.

Excellent

I’m a new listener and I think that the content and approach of Rav Feuer is really excellent. He speaks clearly about sometimes complex topics he is providing in-depth story-telling about the Jewish story which is compelling.

A telling of the Jewish Story worth time in every ear & all your thought and feeling

I’ve listened to this podcast in its “pre-independence” form, from Ezra & Nehemiah to Ben-Gurion & Begin, listening to the enfolding fog miracles, massacres, machers, mavens, mystics, modernists and more, as our people yearn for their land and dare to flourish across the globe.
Rav Mike Feuer explores and recounts events, trends, ideas and core Jewish values on a higher level of critical examination yet does so in a manner accessible to anyone age 12-120. I’ve laughed, cried and scratched my head in my private headphone moments with this show. Can’t wait til season 3! Thanks Rabbi Mike - JG (a random fan from Chicago)
