#24: Kyle Meyr – Professional adventure photographer

Kyle Meyr is a professional photographer and a Sony Ambassador from Norway.

Self-taught and adventurous, Kyle began his professional life as a journalist. With the addition of a camera in his toolbox, the itch and drive to venture further and shoot more, quickly became an addiction. Starting in the ski industry, Kyle worked his way deeper into the adventure, action and commercial photo scene as time went on.

He currently works out of Oslo, Norway, but you’ll find him hunting far and wide for the best action and adventure mother nature has to offer.

I hope you enjoy this last episode of the 2010s. It’s been a fun ride. Thank you all for listening.

    #23: Octavius – one Rasta’s journey

Octavius Wright’s mission is to inspire, enlighten, uplift, and spread positive vibes.

Octavius and I met in 2011 at an open mic night at Seville Quarter in Pensacola, Florida. I was an exchange student there at the time. We quickly became friends after we jammed on stage (Octavius on lead vocals, me on guitar, Chris Ozuna on drums, and someone I didn’t know on bass). Through the years, we kept in touch by giving each other a call once or twice a year. We met again in 2018, when Octavius attended my wedding.

Octavius gave up a stable life in Texas to travel all over the United States on a journey to inspire, enlighten and lift people up. He sold and gave away all of his material posessions, bought a train ticket, and headed West. We talk about this incredible journey at length, as well as Octavius’ life story of music, the meaning of life, what makes people tick, how he inspires everyone around him, and doing hard time.

A great chat with a lovely human being who I am honored to call a great friend.

#20: Living out of a backpack in Australia for a year

#20: Living out of a backpack in Australia for a year

If you plan on going on a serious backpacking trip to Australia, this episode is for you.

    About this episode

Oliver and I met in 2016 whilst we were backpacking up the East Coast of Australia. We quickly became good friends when we were learning to surf during a bootcamp-style week of riding the waves.

After traveling in a group all the way up to Brisbane, we went our separate ways. Oliver has the best stories of that little era, as he went into the desert to work on a melon farm. The outback is filled with colorful characters, and the hilarious stories shared in this episode reflect just that.

After traveling through the Whitsundays and all the way up to Cairns, Oliver moved down to South Australia to work on an orange farm, which was a different, but equally interesting experience. After that, he went West to work at a dolphin sanctuary. All in all, there are many good travel tales in this episode with one of my favorite people from the United Kingdom.

    #19: Zuby

    #19: Zuby

Zuby is a rapper, podcast host, fitness coach, Oxford graduate, free thinker and online enterpreneur.

    About this episode

There’s a good chance you’ve first heard about Zuby through this tweet that went viral. It was featured on The Joe Rogan Experience, Good Morning Britain with Piers Morgan, Tucker Carlson Tonight, Ben Shapiro, RT, and other media outlets around the world, gaining millions of views.

I keep hearing about how biological men don't have any physical strength advantage over women in 2019…So watch me DESTROY the British Women's deadlift record without trying.P.S. I identified as a woman whilst lifting the weight. Don't be a bigot. 😂 pic.twitter.com/dYRraHCB42— ZUBY: (@ZubyMusic) February 26, 2019

That is just the tip of the iceberg, however. He is an interesting guy with many talents and ambitions.

Outspoken, authentic and self-assured, Zuby is a hip-hop artist who doesn’t shy away from expressing his perspective. Every lyric, chorus and statement proudly proclaims his beliefs – with a rare honesty that is refreshing, compelling and inspiring.

Zuby was born in England and raised in Saudi Arabia. He attended an international school where he discovered his first obsession – art. He was ambitious even as a child, with dreams of becoming a cartoonist. His creative passion would eventually lead him down a different path.

As a Computer Science undergraduate at Oxford University, Zuby started rapping and within months self-released his debut album “Commercial Underground.” His first single and music video “Steppin 2 Me” achieved local popularity, receiving radio spins and national TV airplay.

After graduating, Zuby initially joined many of his university peers in the corporate world. But after 3 years of feeling restless, he left the stability of a “normal job” behind him to pursue his passion for music full-time in 2011.

Since then, Zuby’s fan base and list of achievements have continued to grow. He has sold over 25,000 albums independently, created a successful merchandise line, founded a retail pop up shop and reached over 3 million YouTube views and 100,000 followers online. His “Zubstep” EP reached #12 on the iTunes Hip Hop Charts and he has become the highest funded UK based rapper on Kickstarter.

Zuby is a masterful live performer who has toured the UK extensively, including headline tours in 2017 and 2018. He has graced stages in the USA, Saudi Arabia, Nigeria and across Europe. His extensive performance resume also includes opening for several popular artists such as Akala, The Pharcyde and his favourite rapper, Tech N9ne.
