Simbiat is a Cybersecurity Consultant at BDO Ireland, where she supports
organizations to enhance their security posture, manage risk and comply
with industry standards and regulations.
She has experience in Security Operations, third party risk management ,
Information Security Incident Management, Governance, Risk, and
Compliance, and has domain knowledge in various areas, such as
Vulnerability Management, Situational Awareness, Brand Protection,
Threat Intelligence, OSINT, Security Awareness, Data Protection/Privacy,
PCI DSS, and ISO 27001. She holds a Bachelor of Technology in
Cybersecurity from the Federal University of Technology Minna.
In addition to her consulting role, Simbiat is also the founder of a
media platform that spotlights the people, events, and opinions in the
African cybersecurity ecosystem. She is passionate about promoting
cybersecurity awareness, both at the grassroots level and through her
contributions to blogs, articles, and social media.
She has been recognized and nominated for several awards, including the
2020 Top 50 Women in Cybersecurity (Africa) and the Cybersecurity Woman
Volunteer of the year. She is proud to write, volunteer, and mentor, and
is committed to giving back to the community and inspiring the next
generation of cybersecurity professionals.
