Helping me Draw The Line, with her mix in the second hour, it’s Inessa who’s based in Vienna, Austria. Half Austrian / half Tunisian she was originally involved in the scene as a dancer. Her Tunisian heritage gave her a focus on groove, beats and a deep vibe, often accompanied by mellow organic synths or other instruments. She founded the label Leisure Music Productions and is an organizer of various electronic events. Her style is very warm and deep.

It’s drum and bass this week and helping me Draw The Line with her mix in the second hour, it’s Lubi J who’s from Cardiff in the UK. She started DJ-ing in 2000 playing soulful/liquid dnb but her love for jungle and the darker styles was always there and she returned to playing jungle dnb around 2012. In 2022, with fellow DJ Electra, she began her own event, Headspace, to fill the void of modern jungle and heavier dnb in Cardiff.

This is my entry for the Beat Collective Challenge set on 13th December 2022 and closing on 15th January 2023.

The challenge is to incorporate the provided samples in to an original track.

This month the samples are provided by Two Wheels:-
- S1 Hand mixer
- S2 Synth bass mutation
- S3 Lift

S1, Hand mixer. I dropped it into Ableton's Simpler, sampled the very beginning of it to create a high pitched sound, then created a two note rhythm, one note an octave higher than the other. This plays throughout the track.

S2, Synth bass mutation, also placed into Simpler. I selected one part of the sound, pitched it up and made a riff from it that plays in the first half of the track.

S3 Lift sample comes in at 1 min, 2 mins and4 mins 45 secs.
