Story 1: Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp signed a controversial bill into law that critics say would make it “more difficult” for people to vote. Senate Bill (SB) 189 means in part that people without a permanent address will need to re-register to vote… Challenges to those voter registrations will be easier to initiate… And this bill also requires counties to tally all absentee ballots within an hour of polls closing 

Story 2: Snoop Dogg is spearheading a docu-series for E! Entertainment centered around the life of his daughter, Cori Broadus. The untitled series will follow 24-year-old Cori Broadus and her fiancé, Wayne Deuce, 31, as they navigate life leading up to their wedding day. Additionally, the docu-series will showcase the entire Broadus family as they rally behind Cori in her ongoing battle with health issues. 

Story 3: Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey is repurposing the Bay State Correctional Center, a decommissioned prison, into a temporary safety net shelter for families facing homelessness. The facility, which has been in good condition since its closure in 2015, will feature play areas for children, and classroom spaces for adults to participate in activities aimed at fostering stability. It is expected to be operational by next month. 

Story 4: Congratulations to 96-year-old Opal Lee, also known as the Grandmother of Juneteenth…  She was recently honored with the Presidential Medal of Freedom… And just last week, she also received an honorary doctorate's degree from Southern Methodist University.
