They also talk about how the regular season could look different for each team as well. Do the Nets have any answer for Giannis Antetokounmpo? Kyrie Irving on Instagram live. Is the situation more clear or confusing?

Kyrie Irving jumped on Instagram live on Wednesday evening to discuss his current situation with the Brooklyn Nets, where he stands in terms of getting (or not getting) the Covid-19 vaccine, and what the prospects are for returning to basketball. It was a sometimes informative, sometimes emotional, sometimes confusing 30 or so minutes from Kyrie and where we are in this process. Kyrie Irving still can’t play, but there is a possible positive update

The Locked on Nets guys jump on the podcast to give some more updates on the developing story around Kyrie Irving and his status with the Brooklyn Nets. Following the team announcement that Kyrie Irving would not be taking part in the season, either at home or on the road, some recent reporting suggested Kyrie’s motivations for not receiving the vaccination are different than previously suggested. The situation is layered and somewhat confusing, though there might be a path for him to return sooner than later. The Locked on Nets guys break it down and discuss the different possibilities for how this could play out.

No Kyrie Irving for the season or until eligible, Nets are down one superstar

No Kyrie Irving for the season or until eligible, Nets are down one superstar

The Brooklyn Nets dropped a bomb on Tuesday with the announcement that Kyrie Irving wouldn’t be part of the team this season unless he was deemed eligible for full activities after being vaccinated. It was a pretty stunning move by Brooklyn all things considered and calls into question how this season now plays out for the team. Sean Marks released a statement about the move and then did a follow-up press conference explaining the decision.
The Nets ultimately did not want to have Kyrie Irving around in a part-time fashion and now it will be interesting to see how their superstar reacts to the decision. The Locked on Nets guys break down the move by Brooklyn, the quote from Sean Marks, and what the future holds for the team.

Kevin Durant shines, but Nets look incredibly sloppy in loss to Sixers

Kevin Durant shines, but Nets look incredibly sloppy in loss to Sixers

The Locked on Nets guys are on the podcast directly following the third preseason game for Brooklyn, this one a loss to the Philadelphia 76ers. It was a very sloppy game for the Nets who ended up with 26 turnovers when it was all said and done. It was tough to watch at times. One of the bright spots was the play of Kevin Durant who finished with 23 points on 9-13 shooting in his 26 minutes.
But there was plenty to get discouraged about. James Harden continues to look a bit rusty, though he was able to get into some vintage parts of his game. And in general, the Nets had no answer for Joel Embiid early in the game. The guys break down the game all around including the play of Paul Millsap, Bruce Brown, and some others on a packed podcast.

Kevin Durant and James Harden look rusty, but Nets win second preseason game

Kevin Durant and James Harden look rusty, but Nets win second preseason game

The Locked on Nets guys are kicking off the week by looking back at the second preseason game of the year for the Brooklyn Nets and the debuts for James Harden and Kevin Durant specifically. There was a little rust for sure in both of these games and the Nets offense, at times, struggled to get things going. The guys are worried about the performance at all though. There were some things to take away from this game, especially around the early rotations that saw Patty Mills predictably come in as the sixth man and some other veterans coming in shortly after. The guys get into this and what it means for when the season starts. All of this and more on a packed episode.
