Lorraine Bowen's PODCAST - Stereo Spectacular 15 - Sequin Safari

Lorraine Bowen’s hour long Stereo Spectacular journey this month takes us into an incredible but true story!
This radio show is all inspired from a C90 cassette Lorraine recently found when having a clear-out. The true story unfolds of how Lorraine’s mother won first prize in the Shredded Wheat Competition 1979. 1979 - home to afro cuts, public worker strikes, long scorching school holidays, tales of glandular fever and the grind of A Levels.
Sit back and enjoy this very eccentric tale! It’s wonderful heart warming and very British!
First heard on Radio Reverb 97.2FM - home to ' exciting, unusual and downright unpredictable radio'

Lorraine Bowen's PODCASTS - Stereo Spectacular 14 - Down the Pub!

Welcome to Stereo Spectacular 14 - Down the Pub!
Lorraine Bowen's unique look at aural delights visits pubs, bars, real ale and beer! Join Lorraine as she visits the Grafton Hotel pub in Worksop, Nottinghamshire and the star, Suzi Heals, who runs it and who is PASSIONATE about beer! You heard her here first!
Lorraine was on holiday Up North when she stumbled across this pub with beer prices mostly around £1.99 for a pint in February 2013! Without her recording equipment, Lorraine got out her iPad, uploaded a recording app and went to town recording Suzi Hale and her love for all things beery! Mixed in with beer tracks this makes for a lovely hour's listen on a train, plane, car or bicycle journey
This programme was first broadcast on Radio Reverb 97.2 FM and radioreverb.com.
Lorraine made this programme using Cubase Music programme, an iPad for the interview and an AKG C214 mic.

Lorraine Bowen's PODCASTS - Stereo Spectacular 11 - BAD HAIR DAY!

Lorraine Bowen celebrates a BAD HAIR DAY! If you're in a bad mood, everything is going wrong, fed-up, the world seems at odds ... then this is the radio programme for you! After an hour of listening to everyone else's life going topsy-turvey, your problems will seem minuscule! Lorraine gets out all her bad temper songs like A Season in Hell, Raindrops Keep Falling on my Hair and I Don't Like Mondays. Listen to the lady at the gym exasperatingly trying to explain to someone how the washing machine works over the phone, adolescents mouthing off, moths making holes and your life will seem such a dream!
This hour long radio show was first broadcast on Radio Reverb 97.2 FM in Brighton and can also be found on podomatic and iTunes.

Lorraine Bowen's PODCASTS - Stereo Spectacular 10 - QUIRKY VOICES

Lorraine Bowen's PODCASTS - Stereo Spectacular 10 - QUIRKY VOICES

Lorraine's tenth radio programme and podcast is a tongue-in-cheek look at VOICES! Fed up with X Factor blandness pumped over tannoys across town, Lorraine gets out some quirky examples of voices and even gives you a singing lesson or three! Warm up with silly noises and the help of Joyce Grenfell and Norman Wisdom! Listen to the beautiful 7 octave range of a mongolian singer, soar to the dizzy heights of falsetto by a star you wouldn't believe could do that, PLUS hear the completely shambolic recording of Mrs Miller's Downtown! Quirky, eclectic, and very funny this podcast will cheer you up on the greyist of days and get you reaching for more. ENJOY!
