Season 14, Episode 122 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Friday episode, Alex Kozora and I get right to talking about the Pittsburgh Steelers selecting OT Troy Fautanu out of Washington at 20th overall in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft on Thursday night.
We discuss what the tape tells us about Fautanu, why he likely fell to the Steelers in the first round, his potential side and position fit in Pittsburgh and more. We go over some measurables and stats related to Fautanu, him growing up a fan of the Steelers and what GM Omar Khan and HC Mike Tomlin had to say about him during the post-selection press conference.
With the second day of the 2024 NFL Draft resuming on Friday, Alex and I discuss the needs the Steelers still have, and we go over potential targets for their three scheduled selections. We build a pretty lengthy target list that covers several positions.
Might the San Francisco 49ers still wind up trading a wide receiver on the heels of them drafting former Florida WR Ricky Pearsall Thursday night? We discuss that topic and wonder if the 49ers might be interested in trading away WR Jauan Jennings if they decide to keep Brandon Aiyuk and Deebo Samuel. We also discuss the Samuel cap charge and how it might be very tough for the Steelers to trade for him.
Several other minor topics not noted are also discussed in this 76-minute episode, and we end things by answering several emails that we received from listeners.

On this special episode of The Depot Dive, Ross McCorkle and Joe Clark go through their final all-round mock drafts for the Pittsburgh Steelers in the afternoon ahead of the first round of the NFL Draft on Thursday night. They talk about each prospect in their mocks, their reasoning for each pick, and which positions maybe received less-than-ideal placement in the mock.
They then briefly talk about the Alex Highsmith restructure which could open the way for a draft-day trade with the extra cap space they created, and finished the show with a listener question.

Season 14, Episode 121 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Wednesday episode, the second one of the day, Alex Kozora and I get right to talking about the Pittsburgh Steelers reportedly recently restructuring the contract of OLB Alex Highsmith, the timing of it, and what it might mean right ahead of the 2024 NFL Draft taking place.
We break down the actual Highsmith restructure details, the 2024 salary cap space cleared, and how much under the Steelers sit now ahead of the start of the 2024 NFL Draft.
While the Highsmith contract restructuring isn’t huge news in the grand scheme of things, the timing of it is and we tell you why that is. Could this mean that Steelers are earnestly attempting to trade for a wide receiver such as Brandon Aiyuk of the San Francisco 49ers or Courtland Sutton of the Denver Broncos? We dive deeper into attempting to answer that question again.
We make sure to ponder if there would be any other reason to restructure Highsmith’s contract this early in the offseason, and specifically right ahead of the 2024 NFL Draft getting underway.
We attempt to address what a new contract for Aiyuk or Sutton might look like right now and on the heels of yet another NFL wide receiver signing a mega extension.
Alex and I also ponder what sort of trade compensation might be involved when it comes to trading for either Brandon Aiyuk or Sutton in the next few days.

Season 14, Episode 120 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Wednesday episode, Alex Kozora and I get right to talking about the mock draft process during the offseason and why I loathe having to do at least one.
We move on to discuss the rumors floating around concerning the Pittsburgh Steelers ahead of the 2024 NFL Draft getting underway on Thursday night. Most of those rumors are related to possible trades the Steelers could make in the coming days. There are a few nuggets to cover so we do just that.
Former Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger chimed in Wednesday morning with his thoughts on the needs the Steelers have ahead of the 2024 NFL Draft. We discuss the direction he thinks the Steelers should go in the first round when it comes to a position.
Today is the 20th anniversary of the Steelers drafting Roethlisberger, so we talk about where we both were when that happened in 2004.
Alex and I then dive into our final mock drafts for the Steelers that are now live on the site. We go pick-by-pick and discuss reasons for each selection. We also discuss several players we considered mocking to the Steelers in various rounds.
Is the weight of Oregon C Jackson Powers-Johnson a feature or a bug? We have a brief discussion about him during this show.
We close this show out by going through each of the position groups ahead of the draft and which prospects within them seem like potential Steelers' selections. We also discuss our podcasting plans for the upcoming draft weekend.
