Scotland Police Ignore Sex Workers Reporting Assult

Scotland Police Ignore Sex Workers Reporting Assult

Police officers who 'brought shame on their uniforms' and let Emma Caldwell's killer Iain Packer walk free for 19 years should be jailed if it is found they 'engaged in criminality', her family's lawyer says.

Packer, 51, was sentenced to life with a minimum term of 36 years at the High Court in Glasgow this month after being found guilty of murdering the 27-year-old in 2005, as well as 11 rapes and 21 other charges, including sexual assaults, against other women.

Yet 'one of the UK's worst sex offenders' was left to roam the streets for nearly two decades despite officers being repeatedly told Packer 'is the man' and the warped killed taking officers in 2007 to the spot where Emma's body was dumped.

Our purpose is to champion sex worker rights, through intersectional activism and public engagement.
This is done through involvement in intersectional activism and public engagement about the stigma of sex work from the many sides of discrimination and marginalization. This approach respects the interaction of social categorizations, among them race, class, and gender, which strengthens the idea of fighting for all members within the sex worker community.

Phoenix Calida Reacts To Seattle City councilmember Cathy Moore On Loitering Laws

KOMO News - "An explosion of sex trafficking," is how one Seattle city council member described what's happening along Aurora Avenue in north Seattle.

Some business owners and residents told KOMO News something needs to be done.

During a recent community public safety meeting, councilmember Cathy Moore said one tool she's considering to address the issue is a proposal to reinstate Seattle’s loitering law.

Moore told a packed room of community members in late April that she believes the spike in sex trafficking is linked in part to the repeal of the city's loitering law back in 2020.

The moment Moore suggested reinstating the loitering law as a potential tool to address the spike in sex trafficking the room erupted in applause.
