Text messaging has been around for decades
I can remember when it comes $$$ to send alphanumeric pages to a multi-line skytel pager back in the early 90's. Fast forward >>> 20 plus years and we now have text messaging capabilities that can do a lot of stuff such as:
send pictures and emojis
pay back a friend for lunch
make someone's day awesome by sending them a positive quote
help people in an emergency situations
Text messaging has been a huge culture shift on how we communicate in today's world. Listen in on 2 perspectives regarding text messaging from my dad and daughter. My dad gets to share how it has benefited him learning a new skill after retirement and My daughter shares a 'cool' thing that's super simple to her be a teaching experience to her grandpa.
As with this show everything was done just using my smartphone, no fancy microphones, sound studios, or multiple retakes.
Here are three things I hope you take away from this episode:
Learning a new skill is hard for everyone
Use a teaching moment as an opportunity to connect with your loved one's through conversation
It's always better to give than to receive
Have a great day!
