    Art Shot - Teeth

A quick little live review for you today - I went to see Teeth, at the Wellcome Collection. Not for the faint of heart or the dentally anxious, this exhibition explores the darkest cavities of the history of dentistry. It’s sweet in places and rotten in others, with some very tongue in cheek curation. I really dropped the veneer of professionalism here, but I think you’ll want to sink your teeth in and chew on the content, though it is a little hard to swallow in places.

    I’m sorry.

Teeth is running at the Wellcome collection until 16.09.18 - more information at https://wellcomecollection.org/

Contact me via theexhibitionist.org, facebook.com/exhibitionistpod and exhibitionistpod@gmail.com, or on twitter @aaprocter to let me know what shows you'd like to see me review - and, as always, please leave a rating and review on iTunes. It helps new listeners find me, and makes me feel loved.

Art Shots - Dorothea Lange, Vanessa Winship and Killed Negatives

Art Shots - Dorothea Lange, Vanessa Winship and Killed Negatives

Two exhibitions for the price of one, and a free display! I went to Dorothea Lange: Politics of Seeing and Vanessa Winship: And Time Folds at the Barbican, and Killed Negatives: Unseen Images of 1930s America at the Whitechapel Gallery. So much documentary photography. All highly recommended.

Lange and Winship run until 2.09.2018 - information and tickets (£13.50/£9 students) here https://www.barbican.org.uk/whats-on/2018/event/dorothea-lange-vanessa-winship

Killed Negatives (admission free) runs until 26.08.2018 http://www.whitechapelgallery.org/exhibitions/killed-negatives-unseen-images-1930s-america/

James Cook: The Voyages at the British Library

James Cook: The Voyages at the British Library

I recorded this review live in the British Library's exhibition commemorating 250 years since the first Cook voyage. It's a little different to my usual format - you can treat it as an extra long review or use it as an audioguide.

James Cook: The Voyages runs until 28.8.2018. Admission is £14 or £7 with an Art Pass. More information on the exhibition at https://www.bl.uk/events/james-cook-the-voyages

    Art Shots - Lee Bul

    Art Shots - Lee Bul

I said I was doing a ton of podcasts this month AND I MEANT IT. Throughout August I'll be releasing short reviews of the major summer "blockbuster" exhibitions, called Art Shots.

I really loved Lee Bul's Hayward Gallery retrospective! The exhibition runs until 19.8.2018, and tickets are £13 or £6.50 with an Art Pass. This episode also has a return to the background noise plague, sorry.

Contact me via theexhibitionist.org, facebook.com/exhibitionistpod and exhibitionistpod@gmail.com, or on twitter @aaprocter to let me know what shows you'd like to see me review - and, as always, please leave a rating and review on iTunes. Art Shots - All Too Human

Throughout August I'll be releasing short reviews of the major summer "blockbuster" exhibitions, called Art Shots.

I can't recommend All Too Human: Bacon, Freud and a Century of Painting Life, at Tate Britain. The show itself was underwhelming and tickets were £19.50 or £18.50 for concessions, but if you're a bigger fan of Freud or Bacon than me you might enjoy it more...

    HI HI HI

I've missed you! So for the month of August, I'll be back on the podcasting with some quick and dirty exhibition reviews... They'll be super short responses to exhibitions, with my skip it or see it thoughts on the dozens of shows on in London at the moment.

Drop me a line at theexhibitionist.org, facebook.com/exhibitionistpod or on twitter @aaprocter to tell me what I HAVE to see
