    Join Katie and Liz on this week’s episode of True Crime New England as they tell the story of one teenager from Massachusetts who had nothing but malice in his heart. Daniel LaPlante, who had a pension for sneaking into homes just for the thrill of scaring people, decided to take his evil desires to the next level. In 1986, Daniel tortured two girls in their home while he hid in the walls, making them believe they were being haunted. After serving time in juvenile court for that and being released on bail, in 1987, Daniel went from psychological torture to physical homicide, killing a mom and her two young children.     On this week’s episode of True Crime New England, Katie and Liz discuss the horrifying details of the murder of young mom Karen Clarke and her 8-year-old son, Leroy “BJ” Brown Jr. In 1997, BJ was in the car with his mom’s boyfriend in Bridgeport, Connecticut when shots were fired in an attempt to kill the boyfriend. BJ was unharmed, but turned out to be a really reliable witness. When the perpetrator discovered the identity of the boy who ratted him out, he finished the job of his first attempt, and then made moves to eliminate the star witness of his trial and ended up killing his mother too. Listen in to hear the heart-wrenching story of a brave little boy whose life was lost trying to do what was good, and his mom who was killed trying to protect her son.

Then, Katie tells the story of the mysterious disappearance of Vietnamese immigrant John Bui Tran, who simply vanished after a party in Randolph, Massachusetts in 2004.
