Welcome to Seeking Focus - a podcast that provides photographers and videographers with place to critically compare technology, share ideas and enhance their skills.
Presenters Marty Matuszewski (of oneBYone.Media) and Evan Sycamnias (of Pixelife Studio) are both based in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, and have spent several decades shooting and editing photography and videography projects, ranging from commercials and DVD documentaries, right through to small intimate productions.
It is their love of the new that sees them constantly seeking to expand their focus, and to grow not only as photographers or videographers - but mediographers as a whole. 'Seeking Focus' is about their journeys, unique perspectives and experiences.

In episode 33 we welcome you to the land of filters, were we test drive NISI’s new Pro Nano ND-VARIO 1-5 stop filter, and compare it to various other brands available for both photographers and videographers - in particular other Variable Neutral Density filters (VND).
We also discuss other filter types, sizes, circular to rectangular, special effect, ND, VND and Graduated NDs, and consider their benefits as well as draw backs of each, and even discuss not using polarisers on drones.

In today’s episode we take an in-depth look at the features of Canon’s ground breaking RF 24-105 f2.8L IS USM Z lens, a first of its kind, and provide a hands on long term review.
We look at the various features – both standard across the L series and unique to this lens, consider who the lens is best suited to (photographer, videographer or both), consider the value of the motorised power zoom adapter PZ-E2/PZ-E2B accessory, contrast the weight, and look at some potential issues like vignetting in contrast to the benefits like ultra-fast focus for tracking subjects with minimal noise.
