    S3:123 Psalm 37

    S3:123 Psalm 37

When we hear the phrase, “be still” oftentimes, we can read that as “don’t take action” or “don’t move." But what does this phrase mean regarding Scripture? Today, Hannah Staubs from the Watermark Institute interviews Watermark member, Justin Powell. Justin shares that being still before the Lord is more of a heart issue than an action issue. Being still before the Lord is a daily choice to surrender to God.   Additional Scriptures in the Podcast: Matthew 6:33, “Seek first the kingdom of God…” 1 Samuel 30, Story of David’s men, and the capturing of their families. Mark 10:45, “For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, Luke 19:10, “For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”  Psalm 46:10, “Be still and know that I am God.” Exodus 14:14-15, “The Lord will fight for you, and you have only to be silent. The Lord said to Moses, ‘Why do you cry to me? Tell the people of Israel to go forward.’” Psalm 119:105, “The Lord is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path. Luke 22, Jesus in the garden saying, “Not my will by yours be done…”  Want to get involved with Love Our City? S3:122 Psalm 36

    S3:122 Psalm 36

In today’s podcast, Emma Dotter interviews faithful Watermark Member, Jen Hernandez. In a unique way, Jen sees clearly how her own story parallels Psalm 36. Her own decisions led her away from the path of life and righteousness. But, Jen continues to show that this passage also connects to Ephesians 2, and how God’s rich mercy has met her, and God offers that to us as we listen today!   Additional Scripture in this Passage: Romans 5:8, “But God demonstrated his love for us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”   Ephesians 2:4, “But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us,”  Ephesians 2:7, “So that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace…”  Want to serve in Cornerstone Kitchen? S3:121 Psalm 35

    S3:121 Psalm 35

Oftentimes when we are done wrong by our enemies, we can take the role of God in retaliation. But what if we changed our view to praying for their redemption and softening hearts? Hannah Staubs today interviews Zac Whitley, as he challenges listeners to pray to stay in their own lane and trust in God’s work of redemption.   Additional Scripture used in the podcast: 1 Thes. 5:14, “And we urge you, brothers and sisters, admonish the undisciplined, comfort the discouraged, help the weak, be patient toward all.”  Galatians 5:16-25, Walk in the Spirit and Fruit of the Spirit   Want to get involved with Love Our City? S3:118 Psalm 32

Why are we called to confess to the Lord if he already knows our thoughts? In today’s episode, faithful Watermark member T.J. Detwiler and Emma Dotter talk about how confessing our sins to God instills humility, repentance, and an open heart in us towards God. Since God knows everything, acknowledging our sin and no longer trying to hide it allows God to pour His mercy, forgiveness, and healing upon us.   Additional Scripture mentioned in the episode: 1 John 1:9, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” Genesis 3, where God covers the sins of Adam and Eve because they cannot cover their own sins  Check out T.J.’s last episode! https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/s2-045-genesis-50/id1600151923?i=1000602617612  Interested in helping the homeless?
