The spiritual and the political are mutually necessary in this world, interview with Marianne Williamson

The spiritual and the political are mutually necessary in this world, interview with Marianne Williamson

In this episode I had the privilege of interviewing the legend Marianne Williamson.

For more than four decades, Marianne Williamson has been a leader of spiritually progressive circles. She is the author of 16 books, four of which have been #1 New York Times best sellers. A quote from the mega-bestseller A Return to Love, “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure…” is considered an anthem for a contemporary generation of seekers.

Williamson founded Project Angel Food, a non-profit organization that has delivered more than 18 million meals to ill and dying homebound patients in the Los Angeles area since 1989. The group was created to help people suffering from the ravages of HIV/AIDS. She has also worked throughout her career on poverty, anti-hunger and racial reconciliation issues. In 2004, she co-founded The Peace Alliance and supported the creation of a U.S. Department of Peace. Williamson ran for the democratic nomination for the Presidency of the United States in both 2020 and 2024.

Williamson’s latest book, THE MYSTIC JESUS: The Mind of Love is available from Harper Collins here or your favorite bookseller now.

Mary McEvoy is a well known Irish actor and media personality. Mary has worked in television as an actress and reporter for 32 years. She has written 2 books "How the light gets in" an autobiography and "Ordinary beauty" a series of observations on the transcendent in every day life. Mary is very interested in soul work and whether she is writing, acting, advocating on mental health, planting trees its always about becoming more authentic.

In this conversation with Mary McEvoy we discuss authenticity in a world of cosmetic advancements and tweaks. We discuss the pressure around body image and disordered eating. Finding a community in the Gym and how the practice of Buddhism helps Mary have a more compassionate outlook in life.
