Always start with empathy...
Empathy: the ability to understand and share the feelings of another. I want my children to always begin and end with empathy. I think learning about other cultures has really helped me in becoming more empathetic. There has been a tectonic shift in how I view the world since having two little girls. An even bigger shift has come since 2016 when Garyvee first introduced me to the idea. I’ve done my best to operate with empathy since reading his first book. Empathy doesn’t come naturally to me, i can be a hard ass. It’s difficult at times for me to understand someone else’s point of view. But it’s work we can all improve upon. Even a 5% improvement across society can bring about change. I hope this lesson gives some of you pause in thinking about their own habits of such a vital skill.

LGBTQ lives matter too!
What happened to Iyanna Dior was a travesty and it highlights the problems that the African American community has with homo- and transphobia. Our community has to give the same respect that we are asking for! We can’t be the oppressors. This lesson is more of a rant but we have to teach our children to grow up without the bias that we germinate in their minds. The video of a group of Cis men, beating her shouldn’t be brushed to the side.

Mastery takes time but don’t surrender.
I hope to instill in my kids at mastery takes effort and it’s not always roses and rainbows. With this episode I spoke to my own struggles in achieving mastery and that it will take some losses before you ever see the wins. After a long layoff, I hope to bring more episodes in 2020. Stay tuned and subscribe.
