Power of being This Little Light of Mine - Guided Meditations

For any number of a reasons many of our wounded inner children were taught that it was not okay for us to just BE.⁠⠀

⁠If you're anything like me I learned that I needed to hustle for approval and that I could only matter and have significance if I was DOING something.⁠⠀

⁠I learned to be a humanDOING.⁠⠀

One way to learn about the power of being is through a very simple form of mindless meditation.

This meditation to touch the power of your being uses a technique that I learned in recovery from complex trauma called coherent breathing.

Coherent breathing, or deep breathing, helps to calm the body through its effect on your autonomic nervous system. This technique slows your normal breathing from around 8 to 16 breaths per minute to around five breaths per minute.

When you use your breath as medicine you can hack your nervous system and help take your bodies out of fight/flight/freeze/please and activates your rest and digest

When you can get your breathing to leave a stressed state, the rest of the parts of your autonomic nervous system will follow suit, creating a chain reaction that can help to reduce stress, anxiety, and related problems.

This allows you to touch the power of your being.

Find a comfortable place and position where you can be free of any and all interruptions for the next twenty minutes.
