    spclnch podcast #88 / Katharine

Katharine pilots us thru a melodic trek across the vibrant constellations.

Jumping from star to star consumes a lot of time. There is always parts that can be double or triple checked on a spaceship to make sure things are in their optimal working condition. Preventative maintenance can help make one more confident that issues will not happen. Still, something can go wrong with anomalies in space. Just recently, the ships communication system has been in and out of commission. Finding a place to land so the low-gain antennas can be worked on wasn't hard. Once landed, the power subsystem was turned down and then set to offline. The landscape immediately reverted itself to a very old but familiar place. Cat is hissing at the T-Rex off in the distance.

Katharine is here to make things more enjoyable while things get reset. The hypnotic beats can certainly lift your spirits. The bleeps and buzzes definitely get your attention. Other times, the melodies make you smile and sway. There are times when it sounds like someone is working in a docking bay with tools. The combination of them being blended, excites all the senses. Thankfully, she is playing analog with vinyl since everything is off network currently...

    spclnch podcast #87 / Interpolarm

Interpolarm provides us a groovy soundtrack for a journey to far-reaching cities.

Planet travelling is a long-exhausting expedition filled with downtime. Lonely hours surround by blinking lights with pages upon pages of celestial cartography on the docket can be a bit of a rigmarole. There isn't enough coffee in a solar day to keep our attention. We do enjoy the occasional warning bleeps on our console's that make their presence known but we need a more involved score to keep our focus and raise our spirit's.

Enter Interpolarm to satisfy this lust for life and give us something to get up to. Filled with infectious beats and rhythms that blend perfectly, the rise of energy throughout this odyssey verges on hedonistic. The organic drums resonate over lunar sounding accents is a mighty mix of space and land perfect for star-cruising. The occasional vocal passages just increases the vigor to overload.

We wonder if homebase will mind if this ship is set to autopilot while we dance.

spclnch podcast #85 / Dust Yard

Dust Yard is doing some transitional styling in the name of the winter solstice.

Lunar Santa is in a hurry to congratulate everyone who has behaved well this year. The sack with cherished gifts is stuffed to the top: there's a model of the rocket booster, a brand-new storybook, and even a can of surströmming. The only thing that is not in the bag is a festive compilation for body and soul. The French alchemist will provide it, overcompensating for this lack.

In the middle of a frozen lake, an event dedicated to musical passions takes place. This careful flow of the rhythm warms you up like a mug of hot chocolate on a frosty day. Ki.Mi.'s remix gets the blood pumping in the free space: the relentless light heats, balanced lows and mysterious rustles. Nadja Lind enchants one with her treatment of velvety French, sublime brass and magical synth melody, while Makam sums it up with monumental rumbles, distant pulses and pastel pads.

    spclnch podcast #84 / Monosphere

Monosphere is commissioning his new design creation.

The multi-purpose research unit with flight number 84 has been successfully launched and has already delivered all mission participants to the orbit of the Mesozoic planet. The cruiser is equipped with an elaborate communication system and consists of various parts: an engineering deck, photon torpedo launchers, defence deflectors, an antimatter converter and proton sails.

A majestic landscape opens up from the observation compartment. Climbing onto the command deck, it is possible to see every detail out there with the help of advanced analysis mechanisms. Auxiliary shuttles provide rapid transportation of crew members to and from the celestial body. Right now, however, the docking airlocks are inactive because something important is happening.

An electro-sonic workshop with collectable dub-techno textures captures the attention of the entire crew. The piercing aesthetic of information becomes a real discovery surrounded by pile-driving percussion, atomic pads, delays and reverbs. The non-linear drawing of the acoustic structure builds up a story by fixing the reference points: interstellar synthesiser dust, shimmering vocal pulsars, amorphous lows and omnipresent rhythmic asteroids.

    spclnch podcast #83 / Sa3b

    spclnch podcast #83 / Sa3b

Sa3b has prepared treats with a smooth consistency and a strong dub flavour.

The reason for the dinner party is the eve of All Saints' Day. Halloween will accept any adornment and imagery, be it painted faces with sinister grimaces or a costume of a Minimal-antagonist. Jack-o-lanterns ward off all evil and complement the themed decorations while the main guest paints pragmatic silhouettes on the musical canvas.

The pervasive mix sprawls like ivy using effective sonic rebuses and sombre semantic thickets. The close ties of Lebanese culture promote its further development, which finds expression in a romanticised approach and a keen eye for genre variations. The collective image of the selection is vast: the outlines of coastal streets, dim lights and suppressed whispers are evident in Alex Humann's remix, whereas Code Deploy's spiralling rhythmic pattern with its chirping tops gives you goosebumps, and Audub lulls you to sleep with a lamplight glow and goodbyes.
