Sr: Највећа сјај у Београду сагоревала је обзорјем као златна ватра на том чистом јутру, када је Јован кренуо кроз задимљене улице потраживши храну. Тражио је нешто што ће угасити своју глад. На крају улице, угледао је одашљени знак ресторана „Код Бакина Куће“. Осмехнуо се.
En: The greatest shimmer in Belgrade burned with the horizon like golden fire on that clear morning when Jovan set out through the smoky streets in search of food. He was looking for something to quench his hunger. At the end of the street, he spotted the sign of the restaurant "At Grandma's House." He smiled.

Sr: Са мрмрењем главног трга у свом слуху, Јован је ушао у ресторан. Одмах га је обухвао мирис домаће колача и гулаша. Свемир му је присустио. Време је било да једе.
En: With the murmuring of the main square in his ears, Jovan entered the restaurant. Immediately, he was enveloped in the scent of homemade cakes and goulash. The universe was present to him. It was time to eat.

Sr: „Желео бих да наручим...," Јован је покушао да споји слова у речи, пуштајући своје нервозно оклизнуто, сломљено српско. „Наручио бих...змију на пљескавици“, рекао је.
En: "I would like to order...," Jovan tried to connect the letters into words, releasing his nervously slipping, broken Serbian. "I would order...a snake on a burger," he said.

Sr: У салону је владала тишина. Онда је конобар црцкао.
En: Silence filled the dining room. Then the waiter chuckled.

Sr: "Молим?", конобар је дигао веђ. Он је накривио главу као пас који чује свирку. "Змију?"
En: "Excuse me?" the waiter raised an eyebrow. He tilted his head like a dog hearing a whistle. "A snake?"

Sr: Уперивши показивач конобару, Јован је почео поново. „Змију, змију. Знаш, кокошка...Клањање, цок...„
En: Pointing his finger at the waiter, Jovan started again. "A snake, a snake. You know, chicken...Slaughter, cluck..."

Sr: Онда је конобар почео да се смеје. "Мислите кокошку!" усхитио се он, толико да су му очи постале влаїне. "Не змију. Змија није...не."
En: Then the waiter began to laugh. "You mean chicken!" he exclaimed, his eyes bulging with amusement. "Not a snake. A snake is not...no."

Sr: Око њих, остали запослени су се у свом смеху прекретали. Јованов лице се развукло у самозадовољни осмех.
En: Around them, the other staff joined in their laughter. Jovan's face stretched into a self-satisfied smile.

Sr: "Ах, да! Јесте, кокошку!“ рекао је након што је конобар завршио смех. Видео је изненадни расположенир мирис јутра, и чак иако је стомак грчевит, већ је загрижен, било му је драго да је допринео ка просветљењу дана.

Sr: Jovan uvek nije voleo vrteška vrata.
En: Jovan never liked revolving doors.

Sr: To jutro, kroz njih je morao proći.
En: That morning, he had to go through them.

Sr: Sunce se smešilo nad Beogradom, a trgovački centar "Kapija grada" vrvio je od ljudi.
En: The sun was smiling over Belgrade, and the "City Gate" shopping center was bustling with people.

Sr: Ana i Marko su već stajali ispred, tapkajući nogama od nestrpljenja.
En: Ana and Marko were already waiting at the entrance, tapping their feet in impatience.

Sr: "Dobro jutro!
En: "Good morning!"

Sr: " veselo je pozdravila Ana, mada je Jovan još uvek mrzeo jutra.
En: Ana greeted cheerfully, although Jovan still hated mornings.

Sr: Marko je samo mahnuo, oštro gledajući ka mobilnom telefonu.
En: Marko just waved sharply, his eyes fixed on his mobile phone.

Sr: Ulazili su zajedno, ali Jovan se oklevajući približio vrteška vratima.
En: They entered together, but Jovan reluctantly approached the revolving doors.

Sr: Ana i Marko su već bili sa druge strane.
En: Ana and Marko were already on the other side.

Sr: "Hajde već jednom!
En: "Come on already!"

Sr: " doviknuo je Marko.
En: Marko shouted.

Sr: Jovan je duboko uzdahnuo i zakoračio, ali u trenutku kada je trebao proći, nešto se desilo.
En: Jovan took a deep breath and stepped forward, but at the moment he was supposed to pass through, something happened.

Sr: Njegova torba se zaglavila, zaustavljajući vrata.
En: His bag got stuck, stopping the door.

Sr: Njegov strah od vrteška vrata postao je stvarnost.
En: His fear of revolving doors became a reality.

Sr: Bio je zarobljen.
En: He was trapped.

Sr: Okolo su se skupljali ljudi, neki su se smejali, neki su delili savete.

Sr: Zatražila je pomoć obezbeđenja.
En: She asked for help from the security.

Sr: Nekoliko dugih minuta kasnije, čuvar je pritrčao sa ključem.
En: Several long minutes later, a guard ran up with a key.

Sr: Okrenuo ga je i vrata su se napokon oslobodila.
En: He turned it and the doors finally freed themselves.

Sr: Jovan je izleteo, crven u licu ali slobodan.
En: Jovan burst out, red-faced but free.

Sr: Ana i Marko su ga ispratili do kafića unutar centra gde su popili kafu, smejali se događaju i zaboravili na početni stres.
En: Ana and Marko escorted him to the café inside the center where they had coffee, laughed about the incident, and forgot the initial stress.

Sr: Jovan se i dalje unezvereno hvatao za torbu.
En: Jovan still nervously clung to his bag.

Sr: "Danas sam naučio jednu stvar," rekao je kroz osmeh dok su ispijali poslednje gutljaje.
En: "Today, I learned one thing," he said with a smile as they finished their last sips.

Sr: Svi su znali da je Kalemegdan čarobno mesto, ali niko nije mogao da pretpostavi da će upravo tu Jovan doživeti jedan od najzabavnijih dana u svom životu.
En: Everyone knew that Kalemegdan was a magical place, but no one could have guessed that it would be here that Jovan would experience one of the most enjoyable days of his life.

Sr: Jovan je bio dečko širokog osmeha i duha koji je verovao u čuda.
En: Jovan was a boy with a wide smile and a spirit who believed in miracles.

Sr: Jednog sunčanog popodneva, šetao je sa svojim prijateljicama, Anom i Milicom, po tvrđavi.

Sr: Nisu mogle da veruju – Jovan je, izgleda, stvarno mislio da je statua prava osoba!

Sr: Сред јутрње београдске вреве, Милица се нашла у стиску хаоса. Затоварена кесама, успела је да усмери свој стари половњак према последњем слободном паркинг месту у Краља Милана.
En: In the midst of the morning hustle and bustle of Belgrade, Milica found herself amidst the chaos. Loaded with bags, she managed to steer her old second-hand car towards the last available parking spot on King Milan Street.

Sr: Нестрпљивост је миловала ваздух. Тоне звука иза неје били су ураљени. Туди трубају. Сви одреда. Мрморила је за себе и осматрала прешироку улицу.
En: Impatience filled the air. Layers of sounds behind her were intertwined. Honks from every side. She muttered to herself and surveyed the overly wide street.

Sr: С бока, цурима окриће своје монокле, седи Јован. Као стари морнар гледа своју керушу. Као папагај, једна млада девојка, Ана, својим мљакавим гласом понавља Јованове заборављене песме.
En: On the side, adjusting his monocle with elegance, sat Jovan. Like an old sailor, he watched his dog. Like a parrot, a young girl, Ana, repeated Jovan's forgotten songs with her thin voice.

Sr: Милица зграби волан, решена. Кола су помало скренула. Пучак. Јесе га, помисли лако. Врати се, изнова крену у залет. Ђир.
En: Milica grabbed the steering wheel, determined. The car veered slightly. A creak. I'll make it, she thought lightly. She reversed, gaining momentum once more. Thud.

Sr: За то време, Јован и Ана прате паркирање. Лагани смешак угаси Јованове брозе. Ана хихотом прекри своје детиње збуњеност. Иначе сериозан, кроз Јованове очи просветли се момент носталгије.
En: Meanwhile, Jovan and Ana observed the parking. Jovan's subtle smile faded away. Ana's giggles covered her childish confusion. Normally serious, a moment of nostalgia shone through Jovan's eyes.

Sr: Трећи пут је био све што јој је требало. Милица успадне кола. Уздигну се из ње, победнички. Нервоза је помрла. Задовољства је раширити крила.
En: The third attempt was all she needed. Milica parked the car successfully. She emerged from it, triumphant. The nervousness died down. Satisfaction spread its wings.

Sr: Спустила је поглед и заметнула очи са Јованом и Аном. Стану тишинa. Један, дугачак свеж тих блик. Јован крену своју капу. Ана прати старцев пример. Милица крену, са овим кратким сусретом уз њеној души. Сви смо само луталици који се боре са прометним хаосом живота.
En: She lowered her gaze and locked eyes with Jovan and Ana. Silence fell. One long, fresh subtle spark. Jovan adjusted his cap. Ana followed the old man's lead. Milica started off, with this brief encounter lingering within her soul. We are all wanderers battling the traffic chaos of life.

Sr: Svetlost sunca se igrala na zidinama Kalemegdana dok je Milica, uzbuđena zbog dana provedenog sa prijateljima, jurila putanjom ispunjenom smehom.
En: The sunlight played on the walls of Kalemegdan while Milica, excited about the day spent with her friends, rushed along a path filled with laughter.

Sr: Beli oblaci su se odmarali na plavetnilu neba, pružajući savršenu pozadinu za njihovu avanturu.
En: White clouds rested against the blue sky, providing a perfect backdrop for their adventure.

Sr: Pored nje, najbolji prijatelji Marko i Jovan šalili su se kao i uvek.

En: Marko exclaimed, starting to chase after the vanished treat.

Sr: Njegove noge su snažno udarale o stari kamen dok je nizao korake, nadajući se da će uhvatiti sladoled prije nego što se potpuno istopi.
En: His feet pounded against the old stone as he hurried, hoping to catch the ice cream before it completely melted.

Sr: Jovan nije mogao da se obuzda.
En: Jovan couldn't contain himself.
