Alec Beck Behind the Scenes with...

Alec Beck, husband of professional skateboarder, Amelia Brodka, is on the podcast! Amelia fell in love with skateboarding after moving from Poland to the US as a young girl, and began competing professionally in 2009. Amelia quickly noticed a clear lack of opportunities and visibility for women in skateboarding and made the documentary Underexposed: A Women’s Skateboarding Documentary for her final thesis at University of Southern California. While Amelia’s professional skateboarding career progressed, she continued pushing for parity between genders within Skateboarding, helping to get skateboarding into the Olympics - where she also competed!
