    What to make of the Kim-Putin Summit

    For the first time in nearly 25 years, Russia’s President Vladimir Putin is in North Korea to visit its leader, Kim Jong-un. The leaders have signed a new strategic partnership agreement – a reflection of how important this burgeoning alliance has become to both countries, as Putin increasingly relies upon North Korean weaponry to support his war in Ukraine. Correspondent Mike Valerio walks us through the visit so far, joining the show from Seoul.

    A grim milestone in Afghanistan this week as the country marks a thousand days since girls were banned from attending secondary school. This as the Taliban continue to tighten their grip on the country, despite promising moderation after taking power in August 2021. It's a reality Malala Yousafzai calls “gender apartheid” - a term she calls on world leaders to recognize as a crime against humanity.
