    It's the final battle in the Atlanta Campaign as Sherman's Union Army looks to finally take the city. The battle of Jonesborough took place August 31–September 1, 1864, and resulted in the only time a frontal assault by the Union was successful. The victory here sealed the presidential election for Abe Lincoln.

    Second Memphis | Summit Point | Second Ream's Station | Smithfield Station

    This week we another 4 battles, but also another short episode. At the second battle of Memphis, August 21st, 1864, Confederate Maj. Gen. Nathan Bedford Forrest raid the Union held city of Memphis.

    Also August 21st, it's the battle of of Summit Point, West Virginia as the second battle of the Shenandoah Valley Campaign.

    We head back to the Siege of Petersburg on August 25th where the Union attempt to destroy the Petersburg Railroad, which was a vital supply line for Robert E. Lee and his army.

    Finally, we end with another battle in the Shenandoah Valley Campaign with the battle of Smithfield Crossing on August 25th-29th where Philip Sheridan and his army are still trying to get Jubal Early under control.

    This week we have a super short episode with 4 super short battles. It's the battle of Guard Hill, the battle of Gainesville, the battle of Globe's Tavern, and the battle of Lovejoy's Station. All of these take place between August 16th-20th, 1864. The most significant of these battles, Globe Hill, resulted in the Union finally getting a victory at Petersburg and tearing up railroad track that the Rebels couldn't repair.

    Another week and another 4 battles! First up, it's the small battle of Utoy Creek on August 4th-7th, 1864 of the Atlanta Campaign where Union troops attempt to damage rail lines.  

    The battle of Moorefield occurred August 7th near Moorefield, West Virginia where Jubal Early is still causing trouble.  

    Then it's the small battles of Second Dalton and Second Deep Bottom. Part of the Atlanta Campaign and Seige Of Petersburg, respectively.

    Four more battles on this week's episode starting out with the small battles of Brown's Mill of the Atlanta Campaign, Fort Smith in Arkansas, and Folck's Mill as part of Early's raid on the B&O Railroad.  

    For our big battle of the episode, we head to Alabama for the battle of Mobile Bay where the Union Navy battles the Confederate Navy for control of the bay. This was the last Naval battle in Alabama during the war.

    Coming up this week, we have 3 battles. One from the Atlanta Campaign, one from the Siege Of Petersburg, and one in Dakota Territory against the Sioux.  

    First up, on July 28th, 1864, in Fulton County, GA, it's the battle of Ezra Church where the Atlanta Campaign continues.  

    Our second battle is the battle of Killdeer Mountain in Dakota Territory on July 28th-29th. Union BG Alfred Sully lead an expedition against the Sioux in what was the largest ever carried out against Native Americans by the U.S.  

    Finally, our third battle is the Battle Of The Crater on July 30th. The Siege of Petersburg continues with this battle being notable for the Union exploding a mine under Confederate positions that created a crater that was 170 west long, 100 feet wide and at least 30 feet deep.
