    Find out what it is like for professionals who have been first on scene to knife crime attacks. We hear from Surrey residents and professionals who are committed to knife crime prevention, as well as personal opinions from those whose job it is to keep us alive and safe.  
    If you ever need to help a someone who has been stabbed follow these 3 steps:

    Put pressure on the wound.Call 999.Keep pressure on the wound until an ambulance arrives.
    If there is an object in the wound, don’t remove it as this could make the bleeding a lot worse. Apply pressure around it.
    If you think the victim is going into shock (i.e. they are visibly pale, cold and dizzy) keep them warm, lie them down and lift their feet higher than the rest of their body. Always continue to apply pressure to the wound.
