Welcome to Join the Journey Jr.! In 2023 we looked at moments from the Old Testament of the Bible. We heard stories about God’s creation of the world from nothing to something, Noah and his ark, Abraham, Moses, Ruth, King David, and much, much more. In 2024, we are playing games together and reviewing scripture weekly, THEN each month we are learning how to think and feel God's way alongside some fictional friends! Our hope is to show kids God’s one big, true story, His rescue plan for us through Jesus, as well as how that big true story can help us inform how we act on our thoughts and feelings. From preschoolers to elementary kids, students to adults, we’re all reading the Bible together.

Fear - A Pirates of the Mountain Story
Journey with us as little Bart learns about fear as he wanders the woods in the dark! We'll continue visiting his family on the last Monday of each month with more Pirates of the Mountain Stories. Otherwise, next month we will start doing three things 1) birthday shoutouts for the month, 2) incorporating recordings YOU email us responding to a question that I ask, and 3) incorporating ideas YOU have... so email us ideas for new silly voices for memory verses, ideas for new categories for other games, or just questions you'd like answers to. Send all of those emails to jointhejourney@watermark.org, writing the word "junior" somewhere in the subject line.

The Monday Mashup - June 17
Journey with us as we review this month's Preschool (Matthew 5:16) and Elementary (Matthew 28:19-20) memory verses. PLUS we'll play Guess the Sound, go on a scavenger hunt, and play Guess the Imposter! The Monday Mashup - June 10
Journey with us as we play Simon Says, a memory game, and learn about THIS day in history! After that, we'll spend some time reviewing Psalm 24, where King David calls God "the King of Glory", and also answers the question of who can be with God. HINT: None of us can on our own. BUT if we put our faith in Jesus we can!! Check out Romans 6:23 and 10:9-10 to discuss that further.

Contentment - A Pirates of the Mountain Story
Journey with us as Mama Bonny (Grandma) helps Peg (Mom) remember that she can be content - or satisfied with God - just like Paul talks about in Philippians 4:12-13. We'll continue visiting their family on the last Monday of each month for more Pirates of the Mountain Stories.
