Peter and founded UOVO Technologies around 8 years ago and made the play to build a Consultancy specialising digital healthcare technology, connected devices, software and systems.

We explore where it all started, what has changed and what he has learnt along the way. Including how the market has evolved in that period (and it has changed a lot) and where we are heading.

In this episode we catch up with Mary Ryan, Director QARA at Penlon. We recap the story of how she herself was thrust into the spotlight in March after the Government call to arms to build 30,000 ventilators. Mary covers her personal experience of playing a leading role in the Ventilator Challenge UK consortium and going from building 5 to 400 ventilators per week. A truly remarkable achievement and a real feat of engineering. The Penlon ventilator ESO2 was the first to receive regulatory approval for design and would go on to achieve CE mark in record time. 

In our second episode Colin Rylett talks about his experience of beginning with the end in mind. This subject was inspired by Colin successfully flipping numerous firms, including his most recent sale of an online dental training business during lockdown. We cover a lot of ground around planning, milestones, accountability and hiring the right people.


Colin is currently taking a well earned break from work with his family in Spain enjoying some cycling, good food and great gin. Outside of being an all round good guy - Colin is a big believer in solid strategy, brand building, setting milestones and as a Chartered Accountant he can share a unique insight with us. 

In our first episode Dr Patrick Druggan talks about his experience of building high performance teams. This subject was inspired by a conversation we had recently about the skills gap that IVDR is likely to create and how best to tackle it long term.

Patrick is a real character, who is well travelled and has a fantastic Scottish wit. With 25 years under his belt in both med device and IVD in both large Plc and SME, he gives a great insight into empowerment, values, culture and leadership.

We hope that by sharing our stories we can encourage conversation that will push the industry forwards and attract more talent to a sector that positively impacts all of our lives....... we will have some fun along the way too.
