It’s both a gift to his partner, the actor and artist Jemima Kirke, and a withering look at what men can be capable of, while also promoting and empowering entrepreneurial safe sex workers. It’s one of the most interesting, funny, sexy and clever albums to come out this year. Here they are talking about script writing, teenage jobs, making music videos, work ethic and their “no crime” policy.

Joana Avillez is a very wonderful artist who has spent her life in New York City – often portraying its quintessential inhabitants like old woman at the deli, or dog walkers – in her instantly recognisable black line drawings. Joana finds delight and humour in people watching, be that in her home of New York, or in her second home of Lisbon and now, I hope, in her very very new home of LA. We spoke in her kitchen about her growing up in a warehouse in New York’s fish market as a child, how she manages to combine the written word and cartoons, the characters she spies around town and then includes in her work, and other things.

Nicholas Blechman is the creative director of The New Yorker. From his hand-decorated office in One World Trade Centre he makes sure the pictures on the pages of the New Yorker sing as beautifully as its hallowed words. He's a talented draughtsman himself, and a really really great guy with maybe one of the world's coolest jobs?

Recently someone saw Raven in the street and said to their friend: "That guy's from Instagram!" which means he is officially Instagram Famous. Career-wise Raven used to be the Commissioning Director at NOWNESS and now he's freelance and doing clever creative work for a whole bunch of brands. I wanted to talk to him because his work life and side projects are very much based in the modern world, and he's really just a funny, clever, creative man navigating his career through the bizarre, ever-changing landscape of trend forecasting, brands and social media. Paul Gorman is a writer, journalist and expert on visual and pop culture. He's had an intensely interesting career in which he has written for some of the biggest mags and papers of all time, and was one of the first people to ever interview the Spice Girls.
