On today’s episode, I’m joined by educator, author, researcher, and whisky historian, Dr. Kieran German. Dr. German isn’t only a whisky historian, though; he also specializes in the Jacobite movement in Scotland and Britain — but as you’ll soon discover, his passion lies in exploring the history of Scotland through whisky.
On the show we cover a host of different topics, such as the history of whisky distilling in Scotland, and what factors make Scotland an ideal place for whisky production. Other topics include exploring the unique qualities offered by each of the well-known distilling regions in Scotland; the illicit stills that once were hidden inside the homes and farms across the country; Dr. German’s top whisky recommendations; and we also get his advice on how to best enjoy a dram — plus lots more.
