John gives us an elevated view of Christ. He came down to earth as the Son of God, to redeem humanity. The other three gospels give us a horizontal view of Jesus in the fulness of His humanity but John gives us a vertical view of Jesus in the fulness of His deity.

In the Gospel of Luke, we see that Jesus came as the Son of God and the Son of Man. Jesus, completely sovereign and yet arrived in this world wrapped in flesh. We have a Savior who came to seek and safe the lost, to show us a better way.

Since sin entered our world in the garden, there has been a tension between men and women. Over the course of history, women have been on the receiving end of this brokenness. But we also see anywhere Jesus goes, anywhere He is preached, anywhere the real Jesus is experienced - there is an elevation of women. Humanity is distinct, different from all other creation. We are made in the image of God, in His likeness. We were made on purpose and for a purpose. And because of that distinction, every human life has value. At Vima, we celebrate the beauty and diversity of humanity and recognize the dignity that each person was created with.
