Happy Sunday, church family! We are currently walking through our series, Big Ideas from Little Books, talking about relevant topics from smaller books in the Bible. The truths we will learn about from these books will help us to know Christ deeper and allow us to better understand Scripture. As Christians, one of our highest callings is to reach the world with the Gospel. This can sometimes feel like an overwhelming thing. We may feel like our life is too busy to find the time for this, or maybe our fear holds us back from preaching the Gospel. These are places many have found themselves in, if you are feeling that you are not alone. We have the ability as Christians to invite God into this struggle, He will listen and strengthen us as we aim to grow in our mission of reaching the world with Christ. We are in our second week of our series, Reach Where There Is No Church, preaching on the topic and importance of spreading the Gospel to the ends of the earth. Christians are called to bring the Gospel to the world, we can read our direct calling in Scripture. We are a part of the body of Christ, we have brothers and sisters who are all on the same mission with us, thankfully we don’t have to do it alone. Our mission is to reach, to reach until all have heard. We can do this together as a body of Christ by discipling one another in mission. We can have courage to spread the Gospel because we are empowered by Christ. Join us in the latest sermon of the series, Until All Have Heard, and be encouraged to share the Gospel.  

Before Jesus ascended into heaven after His resurrection, he brought all the disciples together as a sort of final commissioning. We have come to know this as the “great commission.” He told them to go and make disciples of all nations, teaching them to believe in Him. This was the mission of the disciples after Jesus took His place at the right hand of the Father and it is our mission as followers of His, today. We are beginning a two-week sermon series labeled, Reach: Where There is No Church, discussing the necessity to bring the Gospel to the ends of the Earth. The Gospel is the power of God for salvation to all who believe. Maybe you’ve asked the question, “How do we live out the Gospel to reach the world?” It can seem daunting to look out to a world in darkness and try to reach all who are lost, thank God that we are not alone in our journey; we have a family who are all a part of this commission. As believers, we should aim to live with a faith and longing to go, recognize the power for all who believe, and live unashamed of the Gospel. Happy Memorial Day weekend, church family!  As you reflect on this day may you remember those who lost their lives fighting for our freedoms, that we hold today. Join us as Pastor Chris brings us a word on how to survive seasons of suffering, as we dive into 2 Corinthians to find our hope.

As Christians, it is our responsibility to share the Gospel. God's word makes it abundantly clear that our mission is to spread the Gospel. For some, sharing the Gospel is simple, for others it is nerve-wracking. At Woodside, we believe in making disciples, by reaching the world and our local communities with the saving grace of Christ. People everywhere desperately need Jesus. Spreading the Gospel should not be difficult or anxiety-driven, but rather an authentic conversation on faith and the need for Jesus. The book of Romans points out our need for Christ, why it is essential to share the Gospel, and where our salvation comes from. We see four truths from various chapters in Romans on a basic framework for sharing the Gospel.
