Brandon Aiyuk Trade To The Washington Commanders? Deep Dive Into Possible 49ers Commanders Trade

San Francisco 49ers WR Brandon Aiyuk posted a TikTok of him speaking to Jayden Daniels. In the clip, Aiyuk says “they don’t want me… I swear”, presumably in reference to the San Francisco 49ers. Before the draft, Jayden Daniels was asked which person in the NFL he would want to play with more than anyone else and he immediately responded with “Brandon Aiyuk”.

Should the Washington Commanders trade for Brandon Aiyuk? Does it make the team significantly better, and does it make financial sense to do so? Amit and KDot explore the WR market, the draft trends, and how good Aiyuk is compared to the rest of the NFL’s wide receivers.

Washington Commanders Offensive Line Optimism, Commanders Log Episode Reaction

Washington Commanders Offensive Line Optimism, Commanders Log Episode Reaction

The Washington Commanders have one big question on the mind of fans - how is the offensive line going to look this season? Last season, the Commanders gave up 65 sacks, tied for 2nd most in the NFL with the Carolina Panthers, and only the New York Giants gave up more with 85 sacks. They've brought in LT Brandon Coleman, LG Nick Allegretti, and C Tyler Biadasz to help shore up the offensive line. Will that be enough to help? Amit digs into the numbers a little bit and comes up with an optimistic conclusion, which validates KDot's take that he has had for a while now.

The Commanders put out a 50 minute video that looked at Darrell Green finding out he was getting his number retired and then took a look into the Commanders draft room to see how they operated throughout the NFL Draft. Adam Peters, Dan Quinn, Joe Whitt Jr., Kliff Kingsbury, and Josh Harris were the stars of this episode.

Louis Riddick On Jayden Daniels, Joe Whitt Jr. Speaks To The Media, Ramiz Ahmed Signs As New Kicker

Jayden Daniels is the subject of our show this week, with Louis Riddick, on NFL Live on ESPN, delivering a glowing review of Jayden’s work at OTAs so far. On the flip side, there have been reports of some struggles in the red zone for the offense and Jayden Daniels. KDot and Amit dive in to discuss what they have thought of Jayden so far.

The Washington Commanders defense is a huge subject this offseason after being the worst defense in the NFL. Joe Whitt Jr., the defensive coordinator for the Washington Commanders, spoke to the media the other day and said that we do not have 11 starters, but rather 17-18 guys that will be rotating and making sure they capture our identity as a defense properly. He also references Bobby Wagner and the job he has done making sure the defense understands what roles and responsibilities are.

Ramiz Ahmed has been signed as kicker after Brandon McManus got cut. We get to know him a little bit and discuss how he fits in with the team so far.

Commanders Perspective: Dallas Cowboys Are In BIG Trouble + Brandon McManus Released By Washington

Commanders Perspective: Dallas Cowboys Are In BIG Trouble + Brandon McManus Released By Washington

There is a break in both the NHL and NBA thanks to the Dallas Mavericks beating the Minnesota Timberwolves in just 5 games and the Dallas Stars choking as the higher seed to the Edmonton Oilers. So, naturally, we bring you an episode on the least successful Dallas franchise of this millenium - The Dallas Cowboys.

The Dallas Cowboys are running it back with the usual suspects - Mike McCarthy as Head Coach, Dak Prescott as QB, CeeDee Lamb at Wide Receiver, and Micah Parsons as their elite EDGE rusher. However... something is off with each of them. The vibes just aren't quite there... nor are the contracts. Mike McCarthy heads into the final year of his contract as coach of the Dallas Cowboys. Could that be renewed? History says it won't be. Dak Prescott, instead of getting an extension, is playing out the final year of his contract. Will he be re-signed by the team? Who knows. Then there's his superstar WR CeeDee Lamb. He waited for Justin Jefferson to get paid, and boy did he. 4 years, $140 million for the Vikings WR with $110 million guaranteed. Will Dallas pay him even more than that? Then what about Micah Parsons, who has been in and out of OTAs because he simply feels like it? There are a lot of variables with their best players and their head coach, spelling potential doom for their upcoming season.

The Cowboys did little to bolster their roster in free agency or the draft, with their top signing being their former RB Ezekiel Elliott.

Brandon McManus was cut by the Washington Commanders, presumably after gathering enough information to be able to safely determine that it was not worth keeping him on the team after the civil suit was filed against him by 2 flight attendants. The Commanders are now in search for a new kicker.

Washington Commanders 2024 CEILING + Emmanuel Forbes Expectations + Brandon McManus Allegations

Washington Commanders 2024 CEILING + Emmanuel Forbes Expectations + Brandon McManus Allegations

What is the ceiling for our Washington Commanders this upcoming season? We have a new owner, general manager, head coach, offensive coordinator, defensive coordinator, quarterback and front office. How far can Dan Quinn and Jayden Daniels take us this coming season? KDot and Amit give their opinions on how far this team can go.

Emmanuel Forbes had a photo with a player at his camp go viral because the camper looks bigger than Forbes. While that is obviously nothing, it does spark the conversation around Emmanuel Forbes and his upcoming 2nd season in the NFL. What are expectations for him? How will he fare in this new system that Joe Whitt Jr. is going to be running?

Unfortunately, Brandon McManus, the Commanders new kicker, finds himself in the news for all the wrong reasons. A civil suit has been filed against him for sexual assault by two former flight attendants on the Jaguars team plane from a flight on the way to London. KDot and Amit chime in on the situation.

The Comment Mailbag has over 15 comments this week and we read them all! Thank you guys for the comments!

AFTER THE POD discusses the NBA Finals between the Dallas Mavericks and Boston Celtics, the joint practice with the New York Jets, and Amit's birthday shenanigans.

Commanders LOADED Front Office, Mina Kimes Dan Quinn "Hot Seat" Take + OTA Observations & Questions

Commanders LOADED Front Office, Mina Kimes Dan Quinn "Hot Seat" Take + OTA Observations & Questions

The Washington Commanders made 2 more significant front office hires in Brandon Sosna, new Senior Vice President of Football Operations, and David Blackburn, new Director of Player Personnel. Sosna is a young rising star that comes from the Detroit Lions. Brad Holmes, Detroit Lions GM, thinks very highly of him and clearly Adam Peters does too. David Blackburn has been with the Baltimore Ravens for 17 years! He's incredibly well-respected, and our front office now holds people from San Francisco, Detroit and Baltimore.

OTAs have kicked off for the Commanders and we discuss the main observations that we have from them. Jayden Daniels, the #2 overall pick and franchise QB hopeful, has looked brilliant so far. Bobby Wagner has exhibited the leadership we've hoped for already. What other observations do we have?

That being said, there are still big questions that need answering. How quickly will this roster gel together? It is the largest turnover for this franchise in about 80 years! What about the offensive line, specifically? What about Kliff Kingsbury's offense? Will Emmanuel Forbes take a leap forward this season at CB?

Mina Kimes ranked coaches on the hot seat, and made a claim that Dan Quinn could be one and done here in Washington. Amit goes off on the comments, while KDot is much more measured.

The Comment Mailbag features around 10 comments. Thank you all for the comments! We greatly appreciate them.
