Season 14, Episode 136 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Friday episode, Alex Kozora and I get right to talking about the Pittsburgh Steelers signing RB LeMich Perine on Thursday and why the team has recently added several new running backs to their offseason roster.
The Steelers first week of 2024 OTAs wrapped up on Thursday and with that, Alex and I recap more notable things to come out of the first several practices. We talk about where rookie DB Ryan Watts is playing in the defense early in OTAs and if he has a future at safety. We also talk about a few things that third-year DL DeMarvin Leal had to say on Thursday and if he can make a huge jump in 2024.
Steelers third-year WR Calvin Austin III had some interesting comments about the offense on Thursday and we discuss those from a personnel usage standpoint. We also talk a little about stats projections for QB Russell Wilson in 2024.
Will and should the Steelers add to their wide receiver room moving forward? Alex and I look at that position group as it sits right now from a cash spending standpoint and go over the short list of candidates the Steelers might could pursue via a trade after June 1.
We also talk a little about new Steelers OLB Jeremiah Moon in this show on the heels of a Thursday OTA report on how he looks early in OTAs.
Alex and I review the contract extensions that S Troy Polamalu and TE Heath Miller signed in March of 2014 and how the structure of those might be something that the Steelers stick close to when it comes to a possible new deal for veteran DT Cameron Heyward.

On this episode of The Depot Dive, Ross McCorkle and Joe Clark lead off the show with a discussion on Justin Fields and his comments made during the first day of OTAs on Tuesday. He comes with the mentality of competing for a starting job, but how realistic are his expectations? We discuss the dynamic between Fields and Russell Wilson and how it seems to be a positive relationship thus far and compare it to some reports about his time in Chicago. We also make predictions on how many games, if any, he will start in 2024.
We next move on to some praise being showered on offensive coordinator Arthur Smith early on in the OTA process. We compare it to comments made about Matt Canada's offense in the past, and why Smith continued to be an underrated storyline for the Steelers entering next season.
For the third topic, we discuss Patrick Peterson stating his desire to return to the Steelers and whether or not we see that happening at some point this offseason. We also discussed some other comments he made about the quarterback situation in Pittsburgh and why he might be experiencing some FOMO.
For the final topic, we discuss a pair of running backs recently signed to the roster in Jonathan Ward and La'Mical Perine.

Season 14, Episode 135 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Wednesday episode, Alex Kozora and I get right to talking about everything relevant to come out of Pittsburgh Steelers first day of OTA practices for 2024 that took place on Tuesday.
The Steelers made a few more transactions on Tuesday so Alex and I recap the one signing and one waiving that took place. We also go over the signing bonuses that were given to the team's five undrafted free agents now that those amounts are known.
We then go over all that Steelers HC Mike Tomlin had to say on Tuesday and that includes his answers to questions about DT Cameron Heyward skipping OTAs and the team not picking up the fifth-year option on RB Najee Harris.
New Steelers quarterbacks Russell Wilson and Justin Fields both had media sessions on Tuesday, so we go over what both had to say. We also talk about Harris not talking to the media at the start of OTAs.
Steelers T Dan Moore Jr. also made a few interesting comments on Tuesday, so we parse those during this show. We also talk about the latest health updates on CB Cory Trice Jr. and ILB Cole Holcomb.
It was announced on Wednesday morning that Pittsburgh will be hosting the 2026 NFL Draft, so Alex and I break that news during this show.
After discussing what the extreme high side of a contract extension for Heyward might look like during the Monday episode, Alex and I then go over what the numbers would like if the veteran defensive tackle received no new money in 2024 as part of two additional years being added. We also remind everyone what the extensions that S Troy Polamalu and TE Heath Miller both looked like back in 2014.
