    Maisha Gainer is a licensed marriage and family therapist practicing in California. She received her Masters degree in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pepperdine University. She also completed her undergraduate studies from Grambling State University where she studied Criminal Justice. Maisha has provided therapy through community mental health agencies while working with a diverse population.

    One of the rewarding aspects of working with a therapist is they are there to listen and provide support. Our friends and loved ones often hear us, but may have a hard time providing objective guidance in the way a therapist can; which can be extremely valuable.

    As your therapist she will support you towards a healthier emotional state. In addition to developing healthier emotions, another benefit of therapy is you have a safe space to discuss problems that you may be hesitant to talk about with people in your everyday life.

    Maisha is a spiritual person and understands the importance of building a healthy connection with each of her clients. Her goal is to meet her clients where they are, and hold onto their belief within themselves. She strives to maintain cultural awareness, competency, and sensitivity to create an environment where clients can be their true selves. Her role in your life is to inspire and motivate you!

    Her style of therapy is eclectic and holistic. She has found the most effective treatments utilize an integration of different modalities to fit the unique needs of each individual. She approaches therapy utilizing Family systems, Person-Centered and Solution Focused modalities along with mindfulness techniques.
