Ep 12: The Dopest of the Dope feat Baby DopeWomxn
-
- History
On this episode of DopeWomxn, Nadine and Kate are joined by friend of the pod, Baby! They were also featured on the very first volume of DefiningWomxn, so go listen to that first if you haven’t heard it yet.
Since every month is Pride Month at DWHQ, it’s never the wrong time to tell the stories of these 3 revolutionary womxn: Stormé DeLarverie, Marcia P Johnson, and Sylvia Rivera. These three kweens were integral to the Stonewall Riots of 1968. Nadine, Kate and Baby dive into their stories and how each is pivotal in the liberation movement for the LGBTQ+ community in the now so-called United States. Pride started as a protest. Pride IS a protest. The black queer and trans community was at the forefront of the riots and we have to continue to amplify their stories, show up and then do more.
