1.7 - Isn't all "Costs" a To'eles‪?‬ Chofetz Chaim Podcast

    • Judendom

There is an allowance to speak Lashon H**a l'To'eles to prevent a friend from financial harm, why wouldn't that allowance be effective for the individual as well? We redefine the allowance of "To'eles" not to be an allowance to violate the prohibition for the sake of the greater good, rather when one gives constructive information which is helpful that is not in the category of prohibited speech. However when a boss wants to hear negative information from his employee it's not for a beneficial purpose rather it's for the overarching need of preserving his own job.
