In 1992, my kitchen table became a modern-day, grunge tinged Salon of the misbegotten. My parents welcomed all manner of grubby teenagers into the house, and fostered just the right balance of supervision and freedom. Debates around the kitchen table, or the dining room table when that of the kitchen proved too small, were near-constant. Many of our friends became so comfortable in our house that it was not surprising to come home to one or another, entirely alone in the house, cooking up an afternoon snack of microwaved eggs, or heating up donuts from Schultz's Cider Mill. The spirit of debate and (often loud) disagreement carried us all into an adulthood that is often far less tolerant than the heady days of the kitchen table. So, first my brother and his closest friends, and then later, I carried on via email. 50,000 emails later, we decided to take the conversations to the airwaves. This podcast is the result. Intro and Outro music are Vicki on the Rails, by The Company Picnic.
