Thomas Merton said, "we must learn to realize that the love of God seeks us in every situation, and seeks our good." Philippians 3:12-16 describes Paul's single-minded effort to cooperate with the love of God in pursuit of the upward call of God in Jesus Christ that he may attain the resurrection from the dead. Christ has made us his own and we get to cooperate with this wonderful work by making him our own.
