Most of us lament and complain about God when we experience some unfortunate events in our life. We wonder why God has created so much suffering in this world or why seemingly good people suffer. But is God to blame? Is God cruel? Is God responsible for our suffering and sorrow?

Why do we celebrate Christmas, the birthday of Jesus? This seems to be very important as it builds our faith. A child has to be taught to be amazed by Santa Claus so that he believes in the magical power of God, just as he is taught to pray to Lord Ganesha, the endearing Elephant God. But, as we grow up, we need to realize that God is birthless, just as God is deathless. God cannot be born or die in the real sense. Yes, God may manifest as somebody who seems to be born and seems to die. But the Truth is very clear that God is never born, nor can God ever die. God is a Power. It is this Power that makes us come alive at birth and it is this very Power that causes death when it leaves. Those who realize the Truth, realize that the Spirit is God. Without God, we are nothing. As 2020 turns into 2021, make a resolution to Realize the Truth.

There is a war within us that causes light and darkness. The war is between the intellect and the mind. Most of us let the mind rule. The result is that we make emotional decisions and we live with negative emotions like stress, worry, anger. But if we allow the intellect to win this war, to overpower the mind, we can realize the Truth and achieve the ultimate goal of life.

What is more important, succeeding in spiritual life or material life? Can we succeed in both?

Most of us think that when we die, along with the body, the Soul also dies. But that is not true. Only the body dies. The Soul is birthless and deathless. It is immortal. The Soul is the Divine Energy that gives us life. In fact, we don’t have a Soul, we are the Soul.
