In Genesis 39, we see Joseph at a pivotal moment in his life. He's been brought to Egypt, and God has blessed him with a place of honor and responsibility in Potiphar's house. In this, he faces a number of choices that reflect where his priorities are. Will he give in to the temptations placed before him, or will he honor God with his life?

In Genesis 38, we find the story of Judah and his daughter-in-law, Tamar. In the messy circumstances, we see what happens when someone is taken advantage of for selfish purposes. Yet in spite of the mess, God is always sovereign and works all things together for His good and gives us hope.

Joseph was treated as his father’s favorite, which caused a lot of turmoil in his relationship with his brothers; to the point they beat him, stripped him of his coat of many colors, and sold him into slavery. In Genesis 37, there are many lessons for parents of things to avoid in how we raise our children.

In Genesis 35, we see Jacob entering the land of Bethel and the change happening in his heart and hearts of his family. In spite of all the circumstances, trials, and heartache of life, God is always faithful and desires a relationship with us.

In Genesis 34, we encounter the disturbing story of the assault of one of the daughters of Jacob. She was treated as an object for a man's own pleasure, instead of as a person created in God’s image with intrinsic worth and value.

In Genesis 33, Jacob finally meets his brother, Esau, after the turmoil of their prior relationship and many years apart. We also see how God has started to change and transform Jacob's heart in how he treats his family and those around him.
