    Leah Abramson (she/her/hers) is an open-hearted soul, Bay Area native, aspiring editorial model, currently located in the Los Angeles community and recent graduate from UCLA with a degree in Gender Studies. Leah comes from a multi-racial background from Russia, Lithuania, Sierra Leone and parts of India. As an aspiring model, diversity coordinator, fashion fanatic, dancer and music lover, Leah is currently detoxing from the madness of her long academic career in hopes to continue her spiritual journey to guide her towards a genuine and creative career path ahead.

    In this episode, Leah talks about how she relates to her different ethnic identities in terms of beauty. We hear what it was like growing up in the Bay Area as a mixed race human with freckles. Leah also shares some of the important lessons she has learned about beauty from a gender studies lens. Tamsin asks Paige to weigh in on the culture around race in Hawai'i.

    Ep 24 — Is Beauty the Fear of Dying?

    Mangda Sengvanhpheng is an artist, healing practitioner, and the Founder of BACII. Her life’s work is guided by her Laotian last name, which means “the light of the full moon.” She explores ways of illuminating our fears and bridging the duality of living and dying through her platform, BACII. Additionally, she has been immersed in the mystical and healing arts for over 15 years, and is currently enrolled in New York Zen Center’s Contemplative Care program. 

    In the episode, Mangda talks about her work as a "death doula" and what it was like growing up mixed-race and multiple cultural in a primarily white-dominant neighborhood. She shares about how her mother's own relationship to beauty had an impact on her ideas of beauty, as well as what she believes is on the other side of death.  Tamsin draws a comparison between death in the Western world and Eastern Asian Medicine, and Paige shares her perspective on after-life consciousness.
