    Tee: Pushing past fear

    Tee: Pushing past fear

Today Tee connected with me about her story of fear of stepping into the role of becoming a music artist and feeling exposed to the world. What I love about Tee’s story is that she started as a producer, manager and event organizer for local musicians. She learned the business side of the music industry and it just so happened that the music side presented itself to her when she moved back to New York from LA and was feeling a bit depressed and down. She began writing her feelings down and turning it into her own music and as she began to perform her own music she feel in love with the artistry side of the business as well. Tee talks about how her world expends the more she puts herself out there and that we should look at the outside world when it comes to fear and realize that it can’t hold us back unless we let it. Matt: Always bigger hills

    Matt: Always bigger hills

Today Matt called in to share his fear and mindset that he had to face in order to become a successful entrepreneur. Matt talks about his roots coming form a small mining town in Canada and eventually coming to the US and founding a SEO marketing company. He has now written 3 book and launched a successful highly produced podcast. One thing that Matt notes in our talk is how he had to overcome the mindset that can limit our thinking and what we reach for. He had thoughts of “why me, am i good enough” that almost every entrepreneur faces at some point. It can feel scary to put ourselves out into the world and face judgement and potential failure but that is the only way to grow and move forward. Matt shares how it is important to move towards your fears because each time you do you are climbing over hills and mountains that feel challenging and fraught with fear but once you take on the risk and start the journey forward the views and rewards that life offers make it worth the challenge. Elliot: The mental framework for facing fear

Elliot: The mental framework for facing fear

Today Elliot shared his story about his fear of flying. He talks about how the fear is linked to a deeper fear of not having control and having to learn to calm his mind. Elliot shares his methods to center himself in moments when fear can set in. He shares how he has used mediations, music, books and aromas to calm his mind from psyching himself out. Elliot also shared how much he learned about calming his mind and how the outer battles that we face in life are controlled from our inner perspectives. He learned a lot when he worked at a Muay Thai boxing facility in New York and also when he worked at a health and wellness clinic that has saunas that reach insanely hot tempters - Elliot would go into he saunas and challenge himself mentally to stay in the heat longer and longer each time.

Max: When you don’t have a choice

Max: When you don’t have a choice

Today I had an amazing time listening and learning from Max’s story. Max is know as the Blind Blogger and he has traveled all over the world giving speeches and meeting with fascinating people. Max lives his life as an adventure and he has so much wisdom and perspective to share with the world. One piece of advise and framework that Max uses when facing an obstacle is something that his dad used to say to him… “I don’t have a choice”. When you get it in your mind that the only way forward is to do that thing that seems like it is the impossible, the unfavorable or the scary thing is to frame it as you have no other choice but to do it. Max frames so much of his life through positive thinking and how our mindset dictates everything that comes our way in life. If we are unhappy we will find lots of unhappiness in life and if we are happy, grateful and open we will find an amazing world that is waiting to help us on our journeys. Max talks about keeping a gratitude journal in order to remind us of all the amazing little things that happen in our days. When you can frame the world through the lens of gratitude you will see how wonderful the world really is. Every situation in life is an opportunity to teach us something new, and as Max says “when the student is ready the teacher will appear”.
