Lesson Summary:
On the creative side, we’ll continue our effort to break down the Book of Mosiah with our totem towers this week. We’ll add pieces like Abinadi, Alma, the Waters of Mormon, and a new map view to help you navigate. Next, we’ll play a high-speed game of Abinadi’s Sinai Scramble to help your kids refresh their Ten Commandments knowledge. Finally, we’ll head into a dark room to showcase the colorful way the three distinct members of the Godhead work in perfect harmony.

Lesson Summary:
This week we’ll study the powerful words of Abinadi to King Noah and his people. He’ll echo the core messages of King Benjamin - about the Savior’s life and redemptive role - but he will teach in a vastly different setting to a group who refuses to hear. His true words and poised testimony will prick the heart of Alma who will carry his message to others and create an epic pivot point in the Book of Mormon.
Questions to Consider:
MOSIAH 12:20-24 (PRIESTS QUESTION) & 15:14-18 (ABINADI’S ANSWER) | When have you seen “beautiful feet upon the mountains” like theirs? How did they publish peace or bring good tidings?
MOSIAH 15:23 | How does it change your perspective to think of being “raised”? How does this relate to overcoming the “Fall”?
MOSIAH 17:13-19 | Why does a loving God ever “execute vengeance”? Why is this a fitting warning for this group? How is this group different from the Roman soldiers?

WEEK 19: SUMMARY

Lesson Summary:
This week’s study spans several decades, and we find out what happened to Zeniff’s group after they left Zarahemla for the land of Nephi. We’ll study the incredible motives of Ammon, a descendant of Zarahemla, as well as the humility of Limhi, who gratefully accepts his help. We’ll also go back in time to read Zeniff’s record. His words will teach us about the slippery slope to bondage and the risks of being over-zealous. However, the overarching message of the Savior’s deliverance runs through each chapter.
Questions to Consider:
MOSIAH 7:15 | These seem to be counterpoints to Benjamin’s description of his rule. Are there other contrasts that Zeniff might appreciate?
MOSIAH 7:25 | Why is fallen a good word choice here? It’s almost like the “natural man” is susceptible to the cosmic gravity of the world without God
MOSIAH 7:18-19 | How can you genuinely rejoice in the hope of deliverance? What does this combination of assured deliverance and effectual struggle teach us about Heavenly Father’s plan? What does verse 33 of chapter 7 add to this idea?

Lesson Summary:
We’ll wrap up King Benjamin’s sermon this week. His people will be so moved by the Spirit that they will fall to the ground in reverence and then rise with new hearts and dispositions. Benjamin will encourage their desires to make covenants and unite as the Children of Christ. In his final act as a mighty King, he’ll consecrate his son, Mosiah, to rule and reign in righteousness.
Questions to Consider:
Mosiah 4:24-25 | How does this principle apply in other ways beyond financial? How do we “have not and yet have sufficient”?
Mosiah 5:8 | How does a covenantal bond add depth and relationship to the commandments? Do you see other commandments differently because of the covenants you’ve made?
Mosiah 6:3 | Do you see similarities between Benjamin’s consecration of his son Mosiah and the consecration of other sons in scripture?
