Episode 16 - How Photographers Can Crush It on Youtube - Interview with Sean Cannell
In this episode I have a conversation with Sean Cannell about how photographers can take advantage of the massive opportunities on Youtube. We discuss strategies for growing a Youtube channel through ranked videos, how to reverse engineer success and why vlogging is a terrible growth strategy (if done alone).
Sean Cannell is an expert on how to crush it on Youtube. His main channel, Think Media TV, recently surpassed 300,000 subscribers. He also collaborates with BenjiManTV on a channel called Video Influencers which is all about how to grow your influence, income and impact with online video. I've learned a lot from Sean over the years and have implemented many of his tips to grow my own Youtube channel.

Episode 14 - The Myth of the Starving Artist
In this episode, I tackle the myth of the starving artist. To be an artist and be broke are not inherently linked. While this myth of the 'starving artist' is perpetuated as the purest form of artistry in our society, it's not what we, as photographers, should be striving for.
In the book, Real Artists Don't Starve, Jeff Goins deconstructs the myth of the starving artist and puts forth a way for artists to thrive. One of the primary examples he uses to show this is the story of Michelangelo, a man who broke the ceiling of wealth accumulation for artists everywhere and amassed a huge fortune during his lifetime.
Today, photographers should be looking for ways to create and thrive, instead of struggle and starve.

Episode 13 - Indecent Exposures - The Culture of Naughty Polaroids
Polaroid revolutionized photography and changed the way people took pictures forever... Turns out they affected change in more ways than one. In the film days, most people would have to send their film to a photo finishing lab for developing and printing. This meant that whatever pictures they took would be seen by the lab technicians. But the introduction of instant photography allowed photographers to cut out the prying eyes of photo finishing labs, freeing some up to create more risque images without fear of having their privacy violated.
