Kenji Niimura grew up in Hong Kong juggling the many cultural, linguistic and social environments in his adolescent years before moving to Japan for University and building a life for himself over there. Having a passion for people, he gravitated towards a career in HR, which took him through a unique path of opportunities including a role in Nike.

Currently he is Head of Enablement (HR) for a tech company in Japan which gives him the opportunity to spend most of his days talking to and educating people, which makes for some interesting insights and lessons learned about work culture, as well as the key mindsets that has allowed him to face and overcome professional and personal obstacles.


Kenji also shares how the pandemic affected his mental health and what he did about it as his responsibilities as a husband, father and worker overwhelmed him which interestingly lead to us exploring what asking for help and support as a friend may look like.

In this episode, I (Shinn) had the privilege of catching up with my long time friend Nathan Chan to hear about his journey into the world of content creation.

Nathan is an unrivalled Liverpool fan who's life and creative endeavours have been influenced by his love for comics. He currently works with the creative team at ICA, an international church here in Hong Kong and is responsible for managing and producing content for the online services and social media platforms.  

He also shares some interesting insights when it comes to creating for himself versus creating for work as well as what it means to be human.

Super excited to FINALLY get episode 2 going with our special guest Arnold Wong who is not only our first ever guest, but also in the true learn-as-you-go fashion of this podcast, has given us the great honour of hosting him for his very first podcast interview.

Arnold is a Hong Kong based health and fitness advocate and entrepreneur, who often can be found in the early mornings doing gravity defying workouts at the local parks. In this episode, I (Shinn) had the privilege of getting to sit down with Arnold to hear more about his journey into the world of fitness and some of the challenges he's had to face along the way, especially when it came to the tension of choosing between the corporate world and making the ultimate decision to create his own path forward while navigating through an ever changing world.

He also shares some very simple but potentially life changing insight towards the everyday person's approach to viewing health, exercise and diets.
