Deep Medicine | Avoiding the needle: how new imaging techniques are transforming prostate cancer detection Deep Medicine

    • Life Science

Welcome to this, the second in the series of Deep Medicine, with your Host Alexander Gray: the Chief Medical Officer of IDEA Pharma. Today Alex has been joined by Mark Emberton, Dean, Faculty of Medical Sciences, University College London, Professor of Interventional Oncology, Division of Surgery and Interventional Science, UCL, and an Honorary Consultant Urologist at University College London Hospitals NHS Trust. Mark has been at the forefront of imaging techniques for early prostate cancer detection, changing the detection paradigm in UK (and beyond) through his pioneering work with MRI. He has also driven the practice of minimally-invasive treatment techniques such as HIFU for early prostate cancer treatment. Alex had a chance to discuss state-of-the-art in early detection with Mark, and consider where future data might lead us in better detecting, categorizing, and managing early prostate cancer.
