    Matthew 5

    Matthew 5

Hey, who doesn’t want to be happy?

We may have many differences, but one thing we all have in common is that we all pursue happiness. In today’s message, we continue our verse by verse study through the book of Matthew, and in chapter 5, Jesus gives us a “happiness formula”. It doesn’t sound like one, because it’s a call to brokenness… but Jesus, who was anointed with gladness more than all his companions shows us an upside-down way to be happy in His "Sermon on the Mount". We hope you enjoy today’s study.

    Matthew 4

    Matthew 4

We love elementary concepts that are simple to understand and easy to explain. When it comes to the most important message on the planet, it couldn’t be more simple. The world is full of darkness and God is full of light. So walk towards the light, and you’ll be alright. So simple.

In today’s message, we continue our verse by verse study through the book of Matthew, and in chapter 4 we see Jesus begin his ministry, recruit his key disciples, and continue the message of Repentance- calling people out of the darkness and into the light. We have the exact same ministry as Jesus did, calling people to run out of darkness and into the light. We hope you enjoy today’s study.

    Matthew 3

    Matthew 3

We all want our kids to be happy. We want them to enjoy life and be great! Did you know that a biblical definition of greatness is not found in being popular, powerful, or prestigious? A biblical definition of greatness is faithfulness within the boundaries you’ve been given.

In today’s message, we continue our verse by verse study through the book of Matthew, and in chapter 3 we learn about two of the greatest men that ever walked the planet… Jesus and John the Baptist. Enjoy this Bible study!

    Matthew 2

    Matthew 2

If you choose to follow Jesus, it will likely cause a problem in your social group. Your own family may reject you.

In today's message, we learn that Jesus divides humanity. Before He brings peace, he first brings a sword.

Perhaps you have avoided following Jesus because of the fear of losing friendships. This message is for you.

    Matthew 1

    Matthew 1

Matthew starts out his gospel with a long genealogy of Christ’s pedigree. Why does it matter? Because in order for Jesus to claim to be a king, he needs to prove that kingship is in his bloodline. Matthew didn’t have ancestry.com to assist him. He did research the old-fashioned way and researched the temple scrolls. Thank God He did, because shortly after he penned this book, the temple with all its scrolls was destroyed, never to be recovered.

So the genealogy we read in this passage is the last surviving Jewish one that connects Jesus to Abraham.

That may not be very exciting to you, but to a guy like Matthew, it was mind-blowing.

Enjoy this sermon from the book of Matthew, Chapter 1.
