An SNP MP has stepped aside as chief whip following reports of sexual harassment allegations and a man has been rushed to hospital after suffering serious injuries from a stabbing in Edinburgh.  The Prime Minister is set to commit £20million to improving transport in Scotland. A Leith-based charity has been hit with allegations of bullying from an ex-volunteer and almost 80% of shop workers surveyed say that abuse from the public has worsened in then last year.

    Chancellor Rishi Sunak is set to announce the furlough scheme extension in his Budget address this afternoon, while in Scottish Parliament, First Minister Nicola Sturgeon is facing calls to resign, ahead of her committee appearance this morning. A factory worker has hit out at his employer following a suspected COVID outbreak, and people with underlying health conditions are being recruited for a COVID vaccine study. And finally, after his Christmas visit was cancelled, a 10 year old boy had his hotel quarantine stay extended at the 11th hour, causing yet more heartbreak for his family.

Despite the National Clinical Director stating otherwise, private security staff have been hired to escort quarantining travellers whenever they leave their hotel rooms. A property in the Canongate was raided by police as part of a human trafficking operation. Retail in Scotland has suffered its worth month of the pandemic yet, with the worst January ever on record and an Edinburgh MSP has apologised after swearing at a female minister during an official video call.
